Thank you for sharing these, it has changed my perspective on wushu now. I was not born in that era but it does make me want to incorporate those aspects in my modern forms. Hopefully I can meet you one day!

Taolu wushu consists of many sub-categorial form styles. But none is even practical or effective in the ring nor in real fights

Subbed. I have only small training (aikijujitsu in the police academy), but became quickly a fan of footwork. Relaxing hips and shoulders is a regular goal of mine when walking. I have a natural tendency to "scoot" my feet when I walk, as my wife calls it. Seeing this is like finding a hat that just fits. I look forward to devouring this excellent material. Thank you!

This is from the official competition recordings. We could purchase the videotapes in PAL format at the event. I only bought the taijiquan tape, I seem to remember it being quite expensive. There must be people (or national federations) that have full copies of the event. They were very professionally produced of good quality.

I dug up a pictured instruction book from the 70s from my dad that coincidentally teaches this exact routine, it's called "jiazu nanzi changquan", which translates to "first group men's changquan", which I'm pretty sure was a popular routine back then. I'm thinking about practicing it, since the difficulty level is way easier than modern competition routines, and just right for me. Having the demonstration reference on both sides, front and back really helps, not to mention it's from the gold and silver medalists that year XD. Thanks bro!

I've been rehabbing a foot injury since 2009. The bagua that I learned in Thailand has been really helpful in rebuilding proprioception. Honestly, its been helpful for a whole lot of things--changed my life. Thank you for the refresher course here...will be implementing this into my daily routine.

No doubt it’s jetli! The other is not stable after every jump and there are some discontinued movement. I mean he didn’t finish each movement in one continuous flow. After stop, he hiddenly adjust his posture then start next move. He got good flow and movement in motion, but he failed when movement comes to an end. Jetli is 100% Better.
