I suppose you like exploring the music of some of these lesser-known composers.
@RileyTuckerMusic8 ай бұрын
I used to use pianosociety a lot (www.pianosociety.com)for that reason. It's a site where you can find free recordings of piano music. There you will find well-known names but also lesser-known composers. If you wander off the beaten path of Bach, Chopin, Mozart, etc... Not saying they aren't worthy of study and appreciation, but there are many composers whose works are fantastic that most people don't know about.
@brandonkozak96968 ай бұрын
I don't think I've ever heard of this composer. So this is just you playing with the strings sound on the keyboard?
@RileyTuckerMusic8 ай бұрын
Hi Brandon, thanks for watching! To answer your question: I transcribed the score in finale and this is just an electronic simulation by the notation software.

I think in most of Chopin’s pieces with epic codas, it’s hard not to have the codas be the favourite part.

Well, you got me going on Fauré's eight Barcarolle, a piece I much love but never properly practiced until now.

Why the drums with this?
@RileyTuckerMusic Жыл бұрын
I was wondering if that was obnoxious and it would sound better without it.. Thanks for your feedback Brandon!
@ChrisBreemer Жыл бұрын
It's quite a groovy piece ! I can't for the life of me see a similarity to Fauré's eight Barcarolle though. Also what you play seems different from the score ?
@RileyTuckerMusic Жыл бұрын
It's really only the beginning of that Barcarolle piece, but Faure does this again later in his oeuvre in Op. 104 Nocturne no. 11 in F sharp minor, at the very end, these octaves with inner voices, I love that technique. In my little sketch here, the ligature is very inaccurate, with this editor, it was basically saying left hand and right hands would split an octave. That's not something that would typically be written, mainly as it would rule out any type of bass notes. What I actually play is RH 99% of the time, although this score says differently until the very end, so one has to ignore the typical "LH is bass clef, RH is treble clef" convention. Anyways, thanks for the feedback and Happy New Year Chris!!!

@@RileyTuckerMusic My pleasure. It's a cute little piece, which you play with great panache, but not one I feel compelled to try out. If I were to do a 4-hand video with myself again, I would pick something a bit more substantial.
@ChrisBreemer Жыл бұрын
Good combination and performance ! Thanks for the credit, but that really wasn't necessary... IIRC I only tweaked the 2 or 3 closing bars to be more to my liking. That does not make me a co-composer. I could not compose a piece if my life depended on it.
@RileyTuckerMusic Жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris, I think it was your copy of Dedication/10 Easy Pieces that I first heard of, so you were an influence. So many of Bartok's pieces seem to fit a Halloween aura. I know you said you wrote a Mazurka once, but were not happy with it. In any case, I thank you for your collaboration and think your ending wrapped up the piece much better.
