That was a pretty brilliant use of the torx bit to run out those safety bolt.

Awesome video, man! I just wonder, why are you changing that gasket? Does it leak? What are the symptoms? How much mileage does this car have? I heard that starting from 2013, Nissan and Infiniti upgraded their gaskets to better quality ones that don’t require replacement. Is that true?

Oh yeah. To do it right without breaking ripping the dash. So much involved. Unless you have every tiny tool to get through every tight spot
@abrown2129 күн бұрын
And to all those who are removing the airbag to upgrade it to a better looking one like they have on Zeta Composites for example, make sure to unplug the negative side of the car battery first so you don't throw all the dash warning lights and definitely be very careful to not break the clips of the yellow and orange wire harnesses. You'll have to replace those.

Hello, When I did this procedure a while ago, I had an issue, because 1 "nut" got lost. The nut where the bolt you are unthreading in 0:55 goes. It's like a plastic nut that sits on a hole in the door. Without the nut, the bolt doesn't have anywhere to be screwed. I ordered the part, but it was impossible to put it in its place without using the dremmel the cut it off a little bit. Do you guys know how to install this little plastic piece? (01281-01231, Grommet screw -> for reference if anyone needs it)

It isn't a balancer. The engine is internally balanced. It is a damper. The crank has torsional forces that snap forward and backward of rotation. It has a durom

Anything can fail. It is a ton of work to fix that. I've been building and designing VQ parts since the mid 2000s and I've nevwr seen one leak. Rears on DEs sure. Good work gentleman.

In the 1960's, GMC was making v6's that ranged in displacement from 305 up to 478 cubic inches and it was physically smaller than this engine.
@smileyguyz25 күн бұрын
They weren't DOHC like the VQ is. DOHC makes engines much larger, but it's the reason modern engines can make more power, while also being more efficient.
@nathancounsell708525 күн бұрын
All those big displacement v6 motors are underpowered for the capacity of them, vq tops every single one for power Even an old 3800 has more power than most of them and it's still a compact motor cause it's pushrod

The front is actually easier than the rear...wish you had video on the rear. There is a like a metal frame that goes and you can't remove the actuator on the rear doors.
