This is what i want to see on videos from additive manufacturing events. New exciting stuff! I've seen flying gantry, now climbing printer. And i've hope that i havent seen it all yet! :P

I'd make the beam fixed and the head move along the beam and I'd add a counter weight on the opposite side of the beam so the CG on the arm is always in the center of the column and having 2 equivalent masses moving in opposite directions will cancel out the lateral forces
@user-cg3em4cw4f9 сағат бұрын
You realize that this machine cant climb with a fixed beam right? Your suggestion makes it not work.
@ZoeyR869 сағат бұрын
@user-cg3em4cw4f yes it can but the belt kinematics are a bit more like an inverted h-bot
@user-cg3em4cw4f7 сағат бұрын
@ My point is, it moves the beam in order to lock into the climbing blocks. If the beam is fixed, it cannot climb.
@TheLupomanesСағат бұрын
You would eliminate the reaction forces from the radius actuator but would double the reaction forces from the rotational actuator that now has more moment to work against. In the end all these optimisation aren't really needed as the printer moves very sloooowly.

Too late now, but the "Adjust" connector is for plugging in the Z probe. Badly named, I know. I don't know why these Chinese companies who know they'll be selling to a large English speaking audience doesn't hire a native speaking technical writer to do their documentation.

The climbing unit, that has future potential to start working sideways, as well, is just a trip. That is clearly, beyond my skill set and abilities, but right up most hobbiest's avenues of printing desires.. Thank you for showing that one.

Sanding. It should be illegal.
@CanuckCreatorКүн бұрын
Its funny the bigger the thing is, the easier i find it to sand, because i can just use a power sander for most of it. Its the small fiddly stuff thats the most annoying

Miley looks super interesting. I love to see ball screws and those magnetic chip covers look very clever. I was thinking about getting the Milo 1.5 but I will wait for the Miley now for sure. Also waiting for the ratrig mill to compare, but Miley seems more promising.

Any idea on where i can source replacement screws for this? The "AMS Screw Kit" on Bambu labs store only has the external ones for the back of the printers.
@CanuckCreatorКүн бұрын
any self tapping plastic screw around the same size should work, heck just force an m3 in their, the 2 screws that hold down the plastic part are mostly not needed anyways tbh
@scarsdale71862 күн бұрын
Sovol V6 is a decent starter printer, good for many different plastics and is more reliable than an Ender. That said, NO matter how it is described by the company, it is awful at printing nylon filament. I've tried several times, and after having 3 extruders and a mainboard and display, I will NOT recommend to anyone who is thinking of using one in a print farm. It's better than the Ender 3 pro, but it still has issues. I was printing up an order for several TPU based toys for a flea market, and I started to have constant issues with clogging, clumping on the hotend, and the bed level had to be manually redone after 3-4 prints. The Z-axis motors uses the same driver, but the motors are not synced and the gantry gets cock-eyed. When I tried to print nylon for a friend (he needed a shifter for his golf cart) the parts would warp, and stick to the hotend and create an "elephants' foot" encasing the hotend, cooling fan, and the wires for the heater. Which is why I had to replace the hotend. There is no effort to protect the circuit board or wires from an accident like that. So DO NOT print with anything more tricky to print with than ABS or ASA, you will regret it.

Hoping that is a prototype as there is a LOT of gaps in the chamber I can see. each corner has huge gaps.

Their not that big in person tbh, i think the lighting and camera makes em look worse than they are. ALSO Its hitting the chambers temps of 55-60c just fine with em as is already

What are you talking about, its perfect for its designed role, which is printing calibration cubes.
@SirLANsalot4 күн бұрын
It's cool, ya, but its too little too late and overpriced to boot. What is it trying to compete against? At its price point there is nothing it does better/cheaper/faster then whats already offered by others. If your thinking to compete against Bambu, you've lost before you even started. Your build volume is SMALLER and your just as expensive as the X1 without the AMS, your kit version is the same price as the P1S with an AMS, which is bigger and in color.... So again, what did you build this printer for? The Tinkerer? Voron has you beat there and they aren't even an actual printer "company" just a bill of materials and some instructions on how to put a box of parts together into a printer (I have the LDO 2.4 350).
@CanuckCreator4 күн бұрын
You said they are competing against bambu? I mean sure, on some fronts, but the industry is large enough to support multiple printers that meet multiple use case needs. As someone whose been involved in this industry for 7+ years and speaking with other users, believe me, their are plenty of use cases and a large demand for printers like this, especially once you consider servicability, long term support, compatibility with existing systems and also business requirements. Also you CANNOT compare an assembled off the shelf machine to a kit printer like a voron, those lack any sort of support, require full user assembly and tuning and if you were to compare them equallity you would have to factor in cost to built it, ship and assembled printed and included long term support and updates
@SirLANsalotКүн бұрын
@@CanuckCreator Been printing for 5 years myself. It comes down to cost benefit, for 3d printing, its cost to build volume, followed by usability and reliability. The Core One fails in all fronts when stacked up against other brands. Even reliability, something Prusa was always good at, has been taken by Bambu. Price to Print Volume value is held by Elegoo Neptune 4 Max printers being just shy of a dollar per a mm of build area. Though usability and reliability are a concern (I had two of them for a while). If you want a large, enclosed, Core X/Y printer the Vorons or Rat Rigs are your best bet there. The pre-built Rat Rigs, though costly, will come calibrated for you, and they are the only ones offering a whopping 500mm Core X/Y, with IDEX as an option. Point I am making is the Core One is entering a market at a print point where it loses to everything else out there. The only reason someone will buy a Core One is if they are a Pursa Fan Boy. I mean really, who's gonna buy a MK4S when an A1 is half the price with a MMU/AMS.....
@CanuckCreatorКүн бұрын
@@SirLANsalot The mk4 IS their fastest selling printer and sells more per month than the mk3 ever did, yes bambu has moved into the market but really their taking the biggest chunk out of printer manufacturers like creator, elegoo etc. As for printers like rat rigs and vorons, not everyone wants to build a printer, some people just want make plastic boat. The markets and demands of users and companies are large enough to support multiple different printers and brands aiming at different segments
