Bit late to the party on this - I'm looking to rent one in March 25 and hoping to get about the island to some of the national parks etc - how far did you travel with yours? Where do you pick it up and can you drop it off at different destinations? Would you recommend this as a way of getting between towns or just keeping it more local?

Hi, Me and my girlfriend is thinking of travel around on Iceland, but we did not understand the insurance renting a car, is it really 3000€ that you need to give the company your renting of, and will you get it back when u hand in the car at the airport? It’s much money We are thinking traveling in April or May, is it enough with a smaller car or is it safer with a 4wd? Appreciated the video 😊👍🏻

We did the opposite and visited Iceland with our own 4x4 by feryy. Its a very long and expensive journey and its probably more relaxing to drive on the F-roads with a rental.

We went in July and the weather was fine - when we snorkelled we saw plenty of fish etc and it didn't rain!
