Oh, I really like this one. I still get intimidated with too much technical Photoshop information coming at me too fast. Fun seeing you build that model and painting it and the final shot. Also liked how you sourced the reflective base for the image.

Do they not have Milliput in Canada?
@StudioDaveАй бұрын
You'd think so, but you can only get it in centiputs. Most either cut it down to milliputs, or get the pack of 100 for a full put. (Metric joke for you)

I'd like to see a revision of your book in the future Dave, and for you to have a lot more photo's in it at a far higher resolution. The print quality of the book itself is quite poor too. I'm guessing that it was self-funded? A lot of the items that you also suggest in the book can only be bought in the United States. Your work is very good. It deserves a much higher quality produced book to match your own personal production.

Yeah it's self funded. Thanks for thinking it deserves a more quality print.

@19Photographer767 ай бұрын
You mention skipping the ballhead. I use a rubber washer, much cheaper but since you use the Disc for other uses OK, I don't as of yet. The Ultra reminds me of the 'Mini' from their orinal production run.
@StudioDave7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I keep the disc permanently attached to my camera, so its easiest for me to just screw that onto the Ultra. Using a rubber washer is a great low-cost hack tho. I like it!

Wow, a whole new Wall-E! That's commitment to the cause! Your paint job is mega and those eyes just make him come to life. I had a sort of the same / not to disimilar situation during covid where I thought it would be a great idea to take a photo of a model car I built. I made a whole set including a 1:24th scale building for it. It took me weeks to build only to decide I could do it better if I did a few things differently. I made the changes but it's still sitting somewhere waiting to be photographed. I also just finnished your book. I was reading it in chapters before bed some evenings. There is a whole bunch of really important info in there as well as a lot of great humor. When is book 2 cominmg out? ;-)
@StudioDave7 ай бұрын
Yeah, printing a whole new Wall-E was daunting as a thought, but the reality of 3D printing is that its mostly set it up, wait a bunch of hours, and swap the print out. SO it wasn't that bad except the waiting (which, as Tom Petty pointed out, is the hardest part). I also just recently upgraded my printer to a much faster one (Bambu X1) so the time to print was significantly shorter (1-2 weeks, not 4-5 weeks). Thanks for the comments about my book. No plans for a second one just yet. If you have any topics you think would make good chapters, lemme know :) Thats what sparked the motivation for the first book was someone suggesting "How do I buy the right action figures for photography" as a possible chapter :)
