Thank you for explaining this! Your jewellery is lovely. I would be very, very grateful if you could make a film with the proper pronunciation in Irish of all the Ogham letters. I've always wanted to be able to say them right.

Thank you for this video. There is something I'm trying to figure out and I hope you can help me. In the video you've said that "mo ghrá thú" and "is tú mo ghrá" are in different dialects. Could you please tell me what dialects they are, respectively? I haven't been able to find that information.

Genuine question here. If I’m not mistaken that would be Scottish Gaelic. So why is it that Ireland uses that as a form of language for an Irish holiday? I’m from The US so this is something I’ve always wondered. Thanks!
@michaelkennedy8004
@michaelkennedy8004 2 ай бұрын
Just to clarify, I know it’s a weird question coming from a US citizen since we take a lot of different language from different cultures/countries. Not only languages but holidays as well.
@MyIrishJeweler

That's not weird at all@@michaelkennedy8004 In this video, Ciarán is using the word 'gaelic' in reference to the Irish language. Irish (also known as Gaelic) is one of two official languages in Ireland. Scottish Gaelic is a closely related language.

“Gaelic” is not the “official name for the Irish language”. You are doing a disservice to Scottish Gaelic by making no mention of it here, and reducing “Gaelic” to only mean the Irish language. This is simply wrong, I’m not sure what the point of this oversimplified video was. Saying “it can also refer to aspects of Irish and Scottish culture” is not accurate. Honestly, what was the purpose of this video?
