Mill Valley of the 80's and into the 90's was a really nice place. Downtown was not crowded ever, and there was always a curbside parking spot. Restaurants were numerous and great. The Avevue Grill legendary. Ino Sushi was too. Then the town tried to capitalize on the real-estate, built it up geared to the very affluent (rich snobs) and the vibe changed to smarmy. Overall, too many people and cars everywhere including all the way up into the hills and canyons for it to be livable anymore.

To clarify, those with and without have coexisted, sharing peace and joy since day one. It's the millenial a-types in the finance industry with their shopping bags and blinders who muck it up.

We love Mill Valley and Marin in general. We've spent lots of time there over the years given a family connection. However, we could never afford what we have in western New York. So we live here and vacation there.

Don’t forget the loathsome building department. Or, rather , the city in general is a bureaucratic mess. We are nearly ending an 18 month renovation of a major street going into town and the chaos and confusion of this project has been pretty amazing. So ill planned . Perfect example , the genius managers will completely shut down Blithedale - the main of two inroads into the town then close parts of the downtown, or parts of the other major road miller. Ridiculous. Also, hidden in the bowels of milll alley are hundreds of that most loathsome beast: Republican tea parties ,who have morphed into trumpers. Once promoted as a progressive town, this place is filled with closeted Trumpers, and many many limousine liberals. Gross.

I love Mill Valley ❤ I lived there for 1,2 years Very safe, I love the community! It’s perfect for families ! The only thing I hateee it’s some narrow streets with car of the both sides parked, and also the super up hills inside of mill Valley that I always stressed…but if u don’t mind will be perfect for u bc the views are the best there! My fav playgrounds there it’s Boyle park u can play tenis, freeman park, old mill park, very close to Sausalito ❤❤❤❤ and the Stinson beach 30 min to San Francisco I really love Mill Valley

You're very privileged as a white man , as a latino in marin I can tell you half of what you said sounds very white privileged..if you can enjoy marin you're probably not a minority prices are crazy expensive so you have to work 24/7 and even then many white families are resorting to work 2 jobs to live here..

Pros: weather, beautiful, close to Mt Tam, Stinson Beach/San Francisco - Yes, we have Whole Food and the Good Earth -- too expensive for most families. Cons: Expensive land, too many corrupt acting public officials, and no you don't see all those heathy athletic folks like pre plandemic - and when the plandemic started only fast-food stores were open. 4 years later, many are still wearing masks thanks to co$ivd fear and public health propaganda. With around 70% getting the jab, longevity will be a thing of the past. Our skies are hit almost daily with chemtrails -- we have the Redwoods for now.

@4:15 Why would you put a large piece of artwork in a confined space next to a beautiful window and view. Any artwork next to it should be much smaller.

I used to live in Mill Valley in the 50s and as kids we'd play in the Old Mill Park. We later moved to San Rafael where my mother was an escrow officer and closed deals for the famous rock artists of the day in the 60s and 70s. Great video.
