Thanks Carey! One Quick question, this minipc includes 2x16GB RAM or 1x32GB RAM?
@CareyHolzman19 сағат бұрын
As explained in this video and in the link on Amazon for the product, I will copy and paste for you here - KODLIX GD90 Mini Computers is equipped with 32GB RAM (2x16GB, dual-channel, expandable up to 64GB). It includes a 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe4.0 SSD (supports scalability to 2TB) and also supports an expansion for a 2.5-inch 2TB SSD. The 32GB RAM unleashes the full potential of the Intel Iris Xe graphics, providing a faster response for both gaming and design data processing. The 512GB SSD offers ample space for more files, you can easily store movies/digital camera photos.

Amendment: I agree with you on the docking stations. Minisforum has one too. If you want a graphics card and that extra lane on the PC...get a motherboard and a case. Now the thunderbolt GPUs that you can plug in that look like hard drives? That's cool. But it won't compete with a RTX 3060.

You're the ONLY reviewer that didn't complain about the internal power brick. Yes, it is a proprietary part, and if it dies, you're SOL. But it is a really cool feature in my opinion. Get rid of that brick!

Hey Carey. I picked up this router and ran into these issues. I'm wondering if you're experiencing the same: 1. Wifi doesn't turn back on with physical wifi button. You'd need to refresh the router setup page on Wireless tab to turn it back on. 2. LED always shows error status. If I have wifi off, RBG/LED is always blinking orange rather than my chosen effect. Would be nice if they have an option to ignore error statuses. 3. Runs very hot and fan has not yet turned on. I hope they fix these issues, or it's going back to Amazon. I do like their config/setup interfact, and wired connections seem fine so far.

The tpm is not used for chassis intrusion. That’s a different setting in the bios. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a specialized chip on a laptop or desktop computer that is designed to secure hardware with integrated cryptographic keys. A TPM helps prove a user's identity and authenticates their device. A TPM also helps provide security against threats like firmware and ransomware attacks. And yes you should turn it on.

I'm looking at the upgraded BeeLink R9-6900HX at 24gb RAM and 1tb drive, Ryzen 9 cpu, Radeon 680M graphics. Same case, integrated power supply. I will be replacing a medium tower with Ryzen 7 and Radeon graphics card. I know it's not an AI processor, but I don't see a need for internal AI at the moment. I just want to "compress" my computing footprint for potential relocation in the coming years to either Independent senior living or even managed care. Mini plus monitor, mouse and keyboard replacing the large footprint. I'll check the price again Oct 8-9 during Amazon days and/or wait for Black Friday or Cyber monday for potential price reductions.

Such a shame that this router doesn't have wifi 7 802.11BE support on the 2.4Ghz band. Could have been the perfect router to buy but for me that's unforgivable. I'll be buying the Deco BE85 for that reason. And because I'm in europe and we can only have 1 320Mhz channel in the 6Ghz band due to regulations so..

As a home user I find having a NAS system a welcomed addition towards as one part of a backup solution, along with other methods. I have learned the hard way about the importance of backing up. In essence a personal cloud. Sure there are many 3rd party applications one could use, personally I prefer my own. Between having off-site storage, home and one other I try to reduce or mitigate the risk of loosing data and make it easier to recover should a catastrophic event should happen. I own a T NAS a 2 bay which is perfect for home use as part of a backup solution and I love it. It all just depends on how much data one really has along with protecting said valuable data. Along with recovery time and ease. So maybe something as this particular device might be overkill for a typical home user, but again it all just depends. Thanks for the video Carey and honesty.

Do you have any idea of why it comes with Windows 11 Home instead of Pro? --- Could it run the Pro version?
@CareyHolzman7 күн бұрын
No idea why it comes with windows 11 home, but of course, like every computer ever made, if it can run the Home version then it can run the Pro version. What will the Pro version do for you anyway?
@kdbmeb997 күн бұрын
@@CareyHolzman - Thanks for your reply ---No clue what the Pro version would do for me. But, when Windows first went to the Home and Pro versions (Way back in 98 or XP), I did run into a 'limitation' with Home. I can't remember what, but ever since then, I have ordered the Pro, just so I wouldn't bump into something.

But SFP+ isn't that expensive anymore - Enterprise or not. 10Gig Fiber is less power - Heat - loss in range - haven't seen any ping differences hmm just saying.
@CareyHolzman8 күн бұрын
Its quite pricey compared to RJ45. The transceivers are about 3x more money than a standard RJ45.
@phasechange50538 күн бұрын
@@CareyHolzman Ok however - a 2.5GBps x 4-x8 port 2.5 GB switch with a 10GB SPF+ Fiber to another switch 40FT away now is transferring over a 10GB switch - Now we have our File share- most of those switches are capable of splitting 5GBup/5GB Down - splitting up the 10GB switch. 4 ways - 2 ways up 2 ways down on that switch or the other Fiber linked switch. From there i have a 2.5GB onto my internet link at the closest switch. But even with just single modern HDD (not SSD) I'm saturating the 2.5GB link @ 300+MBPS link @ 2.5Gbps. So 2.5 is saturated at even a modern HDD.

In a few videos, including yours, it was mentioned that you can transfer hard drives from one station to another. However, in most cases, including my own testing (such as after a factory reset), it always prompts to delete all data from the hard drive. Do you already have a video on how to migrate HDDs without losing data?"
