The music is universal, I don't speak Filipino, I'm from Brazil, and I consider this one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Regine's voice is angelic, I forgot all my problems listening to this spectacular performance. The control, the pitch, the precision, the projection of her voice is incomparable. There's an epic-ness to how Regine sings this song. I know Katrina could easily hit those high notes but there's something lacking because of the ease she does them. I guess the emotion that you feel when Regine gets there is different from when Katrina sings it. The feeling of just having enough air to get there and then descend from that climax feel more authentic and fitting to the interpretation compared to having more than enough air to go because it's been studied and rehearsed many times. Katrina is great but the artistry that Regine epitomizes in her performances is the seal that's missing in the former.
