If the parents originally planned to move in sometime in the future then it should have been mentioned before. If what Op says is true and it was originally a gift then the parents have no right to demand Op lets them move in. Op is an adult and for all we know might have turned down the offer to help with the down payment if it was going to be weaponized in the future. Just cause they are Ops parents doesn't mean they can just move in whenever they want. I fully believe that just because your parents raised you doesn't mean you owe them anything.
