The average property tax bill today for a home in Harris County is around or close to $5,000.00 dollars. That’s robbery. Good thing I lived with my Mom who had a huge tax exemption. Her tax rates locked in over half a century ago. Any and all new neighbors were extremely jealous and very hateful. Today, I am retired in Deep South Texas, never to return or go back to Houston, Texas, ever, Ever!

I vaguely remember my parents watching this when I was a child. I think the news played it. I remember thinking why is this such a big deal that the news would play it. My dad was laughing at him.

Praise God for his amazing mercy and long suffering toward us all, because we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. Lord have mercy on me by reason of all my sins please for give me as you did Pastor Jimmy and so many others. My sins are great but I repent and renounce my sins in the merciful name of Jesus Christ. Thank you my Lord and Savior, Amen!!!!

Tyrone power was such a wonderful actor, too bad that most fans knew him only for his “Hollywood” movies. He was so much more, could have become one of the greatest in our history.

Went to a concert at the Victoria theatre around 1973-1974. Sat in the front row balcony...the theatre only held about 1000 people! Saw Lynyrd Skynyrd and Elvin Bishop! Watching Skynyrd with only a 1000 people rock the hell out of that place is a memory I will never forget!

I was at that concert, in the field about half way. We camped behind the stadium the night before, and came in the stadium about 6 am, hungover, they kept telling us nothing would start until about 7, but nobody wanted to leave, so so so sunburned 😂😂😂😂😂😂

My father was an F-102 pilot during the time of this video. He LOVED to fly. It was his first love, truly. I have much of his memorabilia from his career, including his machbuster pin because, back then, it was an uncommon feat to break the sound barrier! He flew a variety of planes during his career, from screaming fast in that 102 to going low and slow in an 01 Bird-Dog as a FAC in Viet Nam. He was just happy to take off, and equally happy to land! I made a beautiful cross-stitch of High Flight in needlepoint for him when I was a young lady. I grew up with that poem, and it truly is so beautiful. It definitely captured my father's soul, and it speaks to me every time I hear it.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. I grew up in Southern California (class of 73) and it was skateboards, surfing, and music basically. But one thing that really sticks out in my mind was that the "chicks" (about 90%) all had the identical bodies and hair. They looked like Ali Mac Graw back then. Which of course I really liked!
