This also works for a 2010 Honda CRV, however the TPMS module is in a different location. In the 2010 CRV the module is to the left of the shifter knob under the center console, to get to it, go down by the gas pedal, remove that side panel, there are 2 screws really easy, look up into the panel look toward the shifter and you will see it, it is difficult to take out, I used a super skinny screw driver the undo one of the tabs then wiggle out the card by wiggling the connector cable, be careful everything is plastic, you can totally do it, it will take you about 30 min because it's in a hard to reach place; but it totally works. No more TPMS light. Thank you so so much.

So if I got my tires changed and after that it’s still on it would mean I’d have to change the whole thing correct not juz the tires but the tires n rims to not have the popping up ? And if I changed the tires only n not rims I’d have to install and buy sensors on each tire correct?
@AlmostAverageAutomotive
@AlmostAverageAutomotive 2 ай бұрын
Was it working before you got the tires changed? If so I would take it back to the shop that changed them and have them fix it. If not chances are the sensors need replaced, you don't have to replace the tire but the tire will have to come off in order to replace the sensor since they are built into the valve stem on the rim. If you don't want to do that then refer to the video that is tagged on the short, there is a device you can buy that eliminates the light but you will still have to check the pressure manually.

Why do this. Just buy a autel programmer and change the settings.. also the wheel sensors can just get installed onto new wheels. Furthermore the TCS system can be disabled by simply pulling the ABS fuse.
@AlmostAverageAutomotive
@AlmostAverageAutomotive 3 ай бұрын
No one said you had to, but for arguments sake. Let me just spend 6x the amount of this module buying an autel TPMS programmer, go-to the tire shop, pay them to remove my brand new tires and also pay them for new TPMS sensors (for my winter set of tires that only get ran 4 months out of the year) or but this module install it and manually check your tire pressure 🤷 also pulling the TCS fuse doesn't work on a 9th gen Civic, if it did I'm sure someone wouldn't have designed this elaborate module.

Hey funny u checked my comment, just got everything programmed and working, finally!! But before that I stopped at a Pep Boys & tt the ppl and of course they was knocking the fact that I bought my sensors online and said I was crazy cause they never heard anyone getting that to work, and $112 each sensor + $100 off top just to hook up the machine. I’m just fortunate to have a mechanic with a friend that had an actual machine to program everything. I’m on my last car payment. No way I was gonna spend over $600. Total w/sensors & having them installed & having a brake piston or something change I spent not even $ 200. But just as a point it’s 2024 nobody’s going to a dealer spending thousands of dollars to get cars fixed anymore. Thanks to people like you making videos on KZbin. Cheers 🍻

I had my TPMS warning beeping in my face when driving for two weeks. Took my car to tire shop and they said rear right TPMS needs replace. Replaced it and still nothing fixed after a week of driving (supposing it’ll relearn the new sensor). Went back in a week later (different tech now) said the front right is not registering so I must replace that too. Now the total cost is $160. I told him the first time was the rear right, 1 week later now it’s the front? So I canceled the service for the front right TPMS and just pulled fuse. Now I’m going to do a delete so I can turn off Traction control which is uselesss cutting engine power when i need momentum to get my a** unstuck in the winter.

Am i the only one who remembers a time when checking the tire pressure and the fluids was something you did on a semi-regular basis? The TPMS system on the 9th gen Civic represents everything thats wrong with American automotive regulations. As a 3rd generation autocrosser i competed in my first autocross at 15 and in 35 years of road driving i had never been at fault in an accident (ive been rear ended 3 times)....that was until i got caught out in light snow in my ex's 2012 civic. While trying to go up a hill (25mph zone) the combination of a bad TPMS sensor with traction control and a slushbox transmission turned the car into a semi autonomous driving turd. The car headed straight towards a ditch but luckily a sign post stopped that from happening. I recently picked up a similar 2012 Civic EX to commute in and the first thing i did was order this module. Just came 2 days ago
@AlmostAverageAutomotive
@AlmostAverageAutomotive 2 ай бұрын
This module is a must, it's ridiculous to me that Honda would tie in so many traction control systems to the tire pressure light. The biggest reason I installed it was because I got stuck in a half inch of snow one day on a very slight incline and the car wouldn't allow me to power through it because of the traction control.
@juanesteban8827
@juanesteban8827 2 ай бұрын
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive I had a very similar experience,. going up a slight incline I started to drift backwards towards the car behind me. I started doing club autocrosses with PCA in a 1970 Porsche 914 almost 30 years ago ( before I even had my driver's license). A 4 speed with proper 3 pedals and no power brakes or power steering or power windows (Only 2 wires to the engine). I was in control and the car responded to every input I gave it. I'm comfortable driving anything but the way my Honda reacted in less than an inch of snow scared the crap out of me. I have a feeling that's why Honda ditched the setup after a year

Curious if you just unplug the sensor would it throw a CEL and work or no?
@AlmostAverageAutomotive
@AlmostAverageAutomotive 10 ай бұрын
Negative, there's really no way to just disconnect the sensor since they run off of a radio frequency. Only way would be to remove the fuse but then that throws the Christmas lights on the dash. Main reason I did this was to retain the ability to turn off traction control for winter driving, if your tpms light is on the system is permanently on. Therefore if your tires spin, traction control takes over and you have no control over the throttle input.

From what I understand, if it is unplugged the car acts as if it has a TPMS fault. Therefore the lights will remain on, only way to get the light off is to trick the system to think all the pressures are correct. I've seen people also do this by removing the sensors, placing them into a PVC pipe and then pressurizing the pipe to 32psi. Once your done, throw them in the trunk and it will also trick the ecm.

I would like to give your guys whoever has the issue with TPMS Honda Civic 2013. So many instructions showing by using traction control to reset but it will never work at all .Especially, Civic 2013 does not have Tire Calibration pressure function on HDMI dashboard, Do this it will save you lot of money because I just did reset Civic 2013 for my daughter with TPMS faulty. There is the reason caused by flat tire or lack of Pressure on of the tire. As you follow this instruction it would take aways TPMS on your cars. 1- Check your tires pressures in all four wheels to make it 35 PSI 2- Rotate your tires Left to Right (Purpose of this step is cheating on CPU ) if the Front didn't help then do it on the REAR. 3- Hit the Information button on steering wheel then hit Menu. 4- Select Maintenance reset then go to Tire Rotation Reset then hit Enter.(This function will take care TPMS reset, this function is available on CIVIC 2013 or maybe 2012 and other models, use this function to reset TPMS instead Tire Calibration on 2014 and further.. 5- Drive the car for 1/4 miles, it will automatic reset the TPMS light. 6- Don't spend anything before you do it. Good luck.
