That a sign that that lifter has failed. Its bleeding the oil off. Mine never did that. Mine was the can shaft was shot. Several lobes were messed up. And the lifters could not always compensate for it. So the tapping would come and go. 2000-2006 had cam shaft problems. And piston skirt problems. I had several pistons with cracked skirts when I took the engine apart. None had broken off, but several were close to it. Also had a blown head gasket between cylinders 3 and 4. It used 0 oil or coolant but was leaking compression between the 2 cylinders causing a power loss. Bearings all looked new. Block was good. Head was good but no longer flat. I was going to rebuild it, but could not get the machine work done for like a month as every shop around me was backed up. I bought a remanufactured engine and installed that in early 2017. That engine has since failed. And this things getting an LS installed currently.

I did actually. But I dot ride any more. On 9-10-24 someone forced my off the road in toa guard rail on the highway and I almost died. Bike was destroyed. And Im not replacing it.

These truck had projectors stock. I just installed a good HID kit.

The stand is just built from normal 2x4s used from home frame work. I made it my self so that I would have a stable platform to put the bike one when working on it as the jake has a bit more movement in it than I would like. It is glued and screwed together so its very solid. I made these in 2015, I have 2 of them, and I still have them and still use them all the time.

This will not "lower" the bike hardly at all. But running it on the lowest setting will drop it a little. But you run the risk of bottoming it out. Particularly if your heavy. If you want to lower the bike you will need some progressive shocks that are shorter than the stock ones. But you should not try and lower it 2 inches. Thats WAY too much. You will end up with a lot of problems if you do that. Like the tire hitting the inner fender over bumps and such. And the drive shaft will likely not be happy at that angle either. Remember this is a shaft driven bike and that shaft has U-joints that need to be close to level to last. Its widely accepted that 1 inch is about the safe point for this bike. Any more your going to have problems. My wife is also short. 5 foot 4. She actually stole this bike from me not long after I made this video. LOL She rode it for several years before we moved her to a Kawasaki Vaquero that I lowered 1.15 inches for her. You do not NEED to be flat footed on a bike. Its nice, but not needed! I dont think so. You would never be able to rout the cable and secure it with the tank in the way. It would end up getting damaged from engine heat. The tank is VERY easy to remove. There are several videos on here on how to do it.

I tried that. Did not fix it. Cam shaft was wiped out, piston skirts where cracked, and the timing set had a lot of slop in it. I replaced the engine with a brand new one. It failed at 34k. Its currently getting an LS I'm done with these JUNK 4.0s. I had more than 25 dead 4.0s behind my shop at one point. All coil pack motors.

No. The rear seat has the latch system on it, so it would be very hard to try and make it work as a solo seat. Best bet would be to have the stock seat cut up, and reworked and turn that in to a solo seat. Think it would look goofy though since you going to this odd looking section behind the seat just for the latch to work.

@@BadmunkyWRX but the vaquero seat and a nomad seat would be interchangeable?just smaller passenger seat and would be a single seat not two pieces? Correct?

@@chrislewis9345 I don't know if the Nomad seat will work for sure or not. I know the Voyager seat works on the Vaquero after the mods in my video. And then the Vaquero seat does not work correctly any more as the rear hook for the back seat is in the way. But you might be able to modify the stock Vaquero seat to still work and could for sure have that cut down to make a solo seat. But it's probably going to look funny since like 1/3 of the rear seat will still need to be there to cover the latch system.

I almost never speed. I never idle. And I drive it reasonably. No need to hammer it away from every stop, or to do 75mph on the highway. I'm a retired truck driver. I have seen what being a hurry gets you. I choose to drive defensively and slower than most. I get better MPG, have fewer problems with my vehicles, my tires last a lot longer than most people running the same tire on the same vehicle, and I have not had an accident that was in anyway my fault in over 20 years. People are in to much of a hurry these days.

For the seat just buy one for the voyager. You can find used ones all over the place or get like a Corbin, Mustang, Or Ultimate seat if you want a really good one. The rest of the parts need are in the description of the video, and the video should be all you need to get it installed.

Yes. This bike is a 2003 VTX 1800 C model. The and C and F model bikes had pegs not boards. I did swap them out for some nice aftermarket boards though.

Nope. GM drug that boat anchor all way to 2019! In 2020 they finally replaced it with the new 6.6. And that thing likes to eat oil!

It had 2 fuel injectors that where leaking down after you shut if off. So they would fill the cylinder with fuel and blead off the fuel pressure in the line. I replaced all 8 fuel injectors with new ones and it starts right up like it should now even after being parked for 5 days. It also runs smoother, has more power, and idles smoother as well.

I replaced my fuel pump 4 times in total before I got a good one. Lot of JUNK pumps out there. What brand pump did you use?@@KYAg227

I tried that, but the problem was internal. So that did not fix the problem at all. I did not sell it. I just have not made any new content as my camera was stolen last year at a group ride event. And I had a bunch of content on the cameras flash card I had not pulled off and edited yet. And this really killed my motivation to make new content. I will try and post some new stuff when I get the funds together for a new camera, and some new editing software that does not take hours to compile a 15 minute video. I have also been working a lot this year, so I have not posted hardly anything new.

I'm 265lbs my wife is about 170lbs so that's more than 400lbs total and still 4 was plenty. Even with a large bag of gear on the rear rack, we never needed 5. And the bike never bottomed out or felt like it was on the wrong setting in any way. So no, with two 200lb people on the bike you for sure do not need setting 5 unless the shocks are shot.

This bike had 3 owners before me. Any one of them or the dealer could have removed it at some point. But yes it is the same tool that should have come in the tool kit with the bike when new.

This bike is a 2006 VTX 1300 R model. If your VTX did not come with floorboards stock then its likely a C model or F model and the mounting points for the stock floorboards are no there on your frame. So you cant just bolt the boards from an R model on your bike. This one does have some aftermarket covers on the floorboards. No idea who made them. They were on the bike when I bought it. I also used to have a VTX 1800 C that came with pegs and the only option to get floorboards was to buy aftermarket ones. I went with Cobra boards and loved them on that bike. I have since sold both bikes.
