In Germany it's illegal catch trout when they are spawning. In general, I would advise you to try and check if they have eggs and if yes, then release it. That is so long as they aren't a ecological problem as in being invasive to other species of trout etc.

As a Oregon fisherman just saying if i were a ODFW OCIFER. Id be looking at you being it's illegal to gut a trout and clean it anywhere near a river lake or stream. Per regulation.

Why are you keeping eggers? They are spawning and that’s a lot of baby trout you killed off there keeping egg laying females.

Aren't cutthroat trout protected? Isn't that a native? Not 100% certain but I thought that was the case. At least in Oregon.
