Sound like you are stating they lazy. Same issue with all Caribbean Islands. I think it’s more of like the locals are not willing to stay up all night and work until 12 or 1am just so tourist can party. They prioritize mental health and normal sleep cycles. Eat healthy so that way they are not depending on government for medication and doctors for surgeries.

I actually enjoyed this video. Im from Curaçao myself, but I moved to the Netherlands 17 years ago. And yes, the locals have exactly that mentality you spoke about. It's a combination of laziness, the weather, and lack of education. Which saldy keep them in that viscous circle. Regardless, we are very kind ppl. ❤

About the word cure (curaçao). They used curacao as the main island to collect and distribite slaves in the caribbean. So the island was used to rest and heal (cure). I am a local. I work from monday till friday from 7.30 till 5. On saturday 7 till12. Most of the people have their ow houses and do not need to pay rent. Monthly rent for a nice 2 bedroom apt starts from 600$. Salary starts 1800 guulders (800 $). Middle class earns between 4000 and 5000 guilders ( around 2500 dollars) monthly. Their are 2 Local supermarket that has their own food corner where you can eat local and international food 15 guilders (8 $) for a meal. You have the plaza in punda (city) where you can buy local food for 12 $.. Local bars are cheaper then dutch tourists bars. I hope you got the look and feel of how locals live on the island. Remember to visit our beaches in banda bou❤

If you're still struggling to memorize words, understand others and SPEAK confidently, this is for you... 1. I used the “F” word A LOT... and by that I mean fearless action, flexible, fun, focus, faith - which all leads to FLUENCY. 2. I avoided resources for 'learners'. There’s 2 types of language you can learn: fake/modified (which is based on making the non speaker understand) and real/preserved (which are actual things that people say, do, write, consume in the target language) 3. I kept track of every. single. word. that I came across in order to memorize it and learn it faster. And I did that by creating my own 'dictionary' from scratch. Try it and you'll see you'll retain so much more. Apply these secrets and let me know how it goes. Waiting for your comments below!!

@@EduardoBelme my wife and I went there for a week. Even though we stayed at an all inclusive, we shopped and ate off resort often. We only paid over $50USD total for dinner twice. That’s two full meals, and 1-2 drinks each. I would ask around the locals to see where the good places are next time.

Nice video! First of all, I want to thank the author of the channel for making this beautiful and useful video for us! Many people are embarrassed to speak a foreign language if they have no speaking skills. People are afraid to hear criticism from others in their address. It all comes from having a psychological complex - to make a mistake. But, after all, he who does nothing is not wrong! In Yuriy Ivantsiv's workshop "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language" states that we need to talk as much as possible: with yourself, with the mirror, with inanimate objects, with children and with pets. Find an interlocutor in real life or online. Talk without shyness. People won't care how you speak. They understand that you are a foreigner, as long as they understand you. They may even acknowledge your progress in their language and compliment you. However, always be prepared for criticism of your speaking skills. If you have the will to speak, you will gain an interesting interlocutor to consolidate your knowledge. Everyone is strewn with mistakes - don't be afraid to learn from them. As the Latin wisdom says, "walk and thou shalt not go astray". In the book "Polyglot Notes" by Yuriy Ivantsiv an entire chapter is devoted to the development of spoken language. Here you will find many useful tips and each student can choose a technique that suits him or her best! I wish you all the best of luck in your language learning!
