This brings back so many good memories. We camped there on many occasions. We met "Simon " the airport cat when he jumped up on our tent in the middle of the night. Scared the hell out of us. He then crawled into our tent and slept with us for the rest of the night .

Check out the full face GA helmet at bonehead composites totally cool

If it was mandatory for cessna and GA pilots to wear helmets probably would save 50 lives a year most cessna crash deaths are head trauma
@BeccaMel Жыл бұрын
If someone popped out of a 172 with a helmet i would have major respect also there are over 100 general aviation deaths a year and for sure half of them are head trauma

Late to the discussion, but it’s a great discussion becoming more and more appropriate. “Owning” a helmet does not protect you in any way, only wearing that helmet does you any good.

Wow, there's nothing like the sound of a Merlin engine. I was amazed to see you Warwick, when I set up this video, brings back memories of riding in Squamish. Stay healthy.

Great video and great message. I should drop in to Squamish sometime, instead of always flying over as I do. Still regretting I missed the Merritt fly-in.

I am proud to belong to the growing group of aviators in the Squamish Flying Club and hope all will vote to have someone from the SFC represent all of the BC/Yukon region on the COPA Board of Directors. Way to go Warwick! -Eric Henderson

PS - by pure coincidence, I ran into Rob "Scratch" Mitchell today at Gibsons Marina, he's on the boat next to my friend's boat. He spotted my Buffalo Airways jacket, that started the conversation! Small world!

He's right on point in regards to people avoiding controlled airspace because they don't think they're allowed to transit, or can't be bothered to call up tower. I always taught students to utilize ATC and embrace the benefits of talking to controllers. Especially near YVR going across the straight.

Good quality video. Don't know why you put this on here though. I live in B.C. and would love to see more local flyers but with no narration or back story it's lame. Seen one 172B land and takeoff on a grass strip then you've seen them all. How about some talk about the location. How it relates to Vancouver who millions of aviators have heard of around the world but Delta Airpark?
