Tearing down this mall as I post this (7-11-2024). Belk, the anchor, is gone too. All this property is supposedly becoming mixed use in the future.

Yes, the elevator was likely at the floor already with door open when the alarm went off. When the fire alarm goes off al elevators will cancel calls and travel to the star level where the doors will be locked open

its a shame the Presbyterian south tower is no more i use to go there (as well as there iconic childrens hospital) when i was a kid now its replaced by a new building that nobody liked
