Mysteriously,this song is the very beginning and the very end of Freddie’s chronology of his music and his life. I regard him the greatest genius in modern human music history who composed “ We are the Champions “ , yet sang “ I CAN’T play the game of life to win “ ( in Carol King original version “I CAN” ). It was the year 1973 when he was 26 or 27 years old . The time even before Queen issued the 1st album. We all have the hindsight advantage of Freddie’s life . This song just multiply the mystery and beauty of Freddie Mercury as a person and musician. His life and his music both poetic and prophetic…. a paradox of complexity and simplicity…The end of the song seems to be an invitation from Freddie to us … “ So catch me if you can .. I am going back “ … Really what can we say ? Freddie, catch you wish we can, we are too going back ….This makes the song never really end.. a cycle begins … reminds me “ Then I’d still be where I started “ in another Queen song - Keep yourself alive …
