Reality is GSP was hanging around some very powerful people in Canada (Rizzuto Family) and those guys weren't having nothing to do with Dana. They made sure that the UFC take care of GSP and it created friction because Dana is very well aware of who was at the top at that time (street wise) and he couldn't do nothing about it. Dana doesn't really have good words to say about Montreal and for good reason....

I thought it was a completely fair and a justifiable outcome. GSP did way more than enough to win. Never been a fan Hendricks he's a cheater and a boring fighter. Hendricks busted him up several times for sure but GSP still controlled him a lot more throughout the fight and Hendricks was attempting to tap out in the first round when GSP had him in the submission hold. He's just lucky the referee didn't notice that. Hendricks is a fool thinking he won and celebrating too early with his camp. On points GSP had it all day. I'm glad he defended the belt even if I'm not a huge fan of his wrestling style of fighting. The statistics are in favor of GSP he had three rounds in the bag. Dana White and Johnny Hendricks are wrong. Condit also won Hendricks.

Watching this years later its laughable how Hendricks career tanked once he got caught on steroids. Hendricks probably won this fight but karma caught him with the judges decision.

I think Dana is wrong in saying it's about damage, (UFC scoring is called the “unified rules of mixed martial arts.” Under these guidelines, scoring in each round is based on effective striking/grappling, effective aggressiveness, and - in the case of the UFC - Octagon control). Now if we go by this, GSP won by a little margin.....

Been a long time since I've watched this one. I thought under the rule set at the time gsp won 3 round to 2. Under the new rule set Hendricks would've gotten 10 8 rounds in the two that he won and taken the belt. Very poor showing from Dana

GSP is one of the GOATS no doubt, but he got smashed in this fight and should have lost his title. This was just as controversial, if not more than when Gus should have gotten his hand raised versus Jones in their first fight. Looking back at this fight and many of the comments and reactions from people, they immediately assume Hendricks was juicing, etc., even though he never failed a drug test in the UFC. Hendricks cut a lot of weight and heavily relied on IVs to rehydrate and when those IVs got banned, his downfall began. Now, could he have been juicing? Sure, but once again, this is fallacious and cannot be proven and there was . What I never hear people mention is how GSP retired as soon as USADA came to town, but nobody bats an eye because GSP is looked at in a different light.

People need to Realize... GSP left the UFC right when USADA came into town...
