I LOVE the API sound. My band, Critter Jones had the pleasure of tracking an album for Maverick Records (20 years ago) on a 70's API console at Wishbone Studios in North Hollywood. I've been chasing that sound ever since. The Box 2 is my dream console. I do wish you guys had more of a presence on KZbin, however. I guess, when you're the best, you don't have to advertise it.

Would have been cool to see some behind the scenes, or some history instead of an 11 minute ad. Yall should bring warren huart to your factory to shoot a video.

That guy reminds me of Ron Burgundy. Anyways, excellent tour and very nice president and owner. Seems like the companies ran very well. I have a couple API pieces.

Does anyone know who is that playing the guitar track behind Marc Alan Goodman in the first opening clip? Yes API sounds so good for sure.

We had an API console in Channel One studio in Jamaica, nothing has ever matched the playback sound from it, the guy who owned it, a Chinese Jamaican, used to say to me " its a Godley Sound ". Any recordings done there were and still are instantly recognisable.

I love the API sound! I operated an API/Neve console at Hollywood Sound in the mid ‘80’s-‘90’s and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I’ve been operating ProTools after that and looking to keep those great API Mic pre’s on the way in to ProTools rig.

Cool! I have a PO box right across the street for twenty-five years. Nice to know what's going on at a place I thought was a homeless camp. 🤔 This is absolutely in no way intended to make fun of anyone as i'm told it's gorgeous inside. Thanks for keeping the tradition alive!

He's incorrect. The 550a EQ is built slightly different from the original, after DataTronix started producing them in the 1980s.

The console does look great, I think the end of the day it doesn't matter what console you use if the mixes sound good to people that's the important thing. But for me it would definately be Neve 5088.

Dear API. Could you do a video on integrating a 1608 (5.1 console) into an ATMOS mixing setup?

Hello Dear API development Team. Please make something like the Elektron ANALOG HEAT mk ii with your fantastic API sound and build quality.

Hi API. Why aren’t you communicating with your customers you have 5.1 consoles so you can print stereo and surround in one go?

If it only had 16 inputs I would buy this. Can't seen paying that much money and not being able to track a band together.
