This series is remarkable, Tad! The valleys of the shadow of death come in so many disguises. But God knows and sees through them all, and guides us through to the other end. Thank you for leading us through these verses God's word to us through them.

This has been a great series! I have not thought of some of these passages as benediction before. God's good word. Thanks for helping us focus on them.

This is such a great passage. Thank you for pointing out that it is a blessing as well as a promise. I think we all need this reminder that during our desert periods God truly does have a very greater idea than what we are able to think of, and he has a marvelous way of getting us there than any thoughts we are able to imagine. I look forward to the next sermon in this series..

God stooping down to us is such an intimate gesture, as a parent to a beloved child. Thank you for teaching through this tender good word.

Terrific sermon, Tad! There are such strong parallels between us and Saul/Paul. I'm grateful to learn from his life.

This promises to be a great series! Thanks for the background intro. I had never thought of Moses' song as the voice of God's indictment of his people. I'm so thankful for grace that allows us to take stock and reverse course.

Terrific sermon, Tad! What a powerful, tender way to begin - thinking about what the death of Lazarus really meant for Martha and Mary.

So thought provoking to consider the strangers all around us and how best to welcome them.

Thanks for this sermon from James, Tad. The questions you pose at the end are so useful for self-assessment throughout the day.

I have not thought about this story for a long time. I especially like the encouragement that we can always plug back in.

I had forgotten about this story! I hope I can grow in listening/responding/recognizing voice of God, and grow less inclined to a tantrum.

I really appreciate the questions you suggest keeping in mind as we study the stories in scripture.

Great intro to Ephesians! The challenge is to think of folks who are hard for me to include in the thought that God takes pleasure in us. Sometimes it is hard to appreciate a particular person or two, but if God takes pleasure, I need work on putting aside or constructively deal with the things that feel onerous to me. Looking forward to next week and chapter 2!

Best nugget for me is your explanation that God may not save us FROM the lion's den, but he absolutely goes into the den with us and protects us IN the den.

Very helpful to learn the actual definition of apocalypse/ apocalyptic. Also helpful to consider Daniel's response to the visions he sees: write it down while fresh in his mind and then seek wisdom from another to understand what it means. Best of all though is recognizing our fear of not really mattering to God and being reminded that we matter more than we will ever comprehend. Thanks for this sermon!

Very thought provoking sermon! Questions in my mind to ponder: 1) What or who would seek to change my name? Do I unknowingly force that on anyone else? How do I think about others and what "labels" pop into my mind? 2) What threat hangs heavily over my head? (Politics, health, relationships, decisions ...) Does it distract my focus and reliance on God? Looking forward to next week's sermon!

I never knew the meaning of Zacheus' name. What a contrast to his profession and testament to God's grace when Zacheus responded to his invitation.
