Omg!! I came across this video on this lazy Sunday at home. Loved everything about it. I’m totally down for the salmon salad and the sangria. I too love Bartlett pears. I found you on KZbin and subscribed right away. I love your personality and the way you put the ingredients together. It’s an art form. I’m going to spend some time exploring this site. Including the pod. Keep those delicious recipes coming. Ana. (Cuban from NJ, USA) 🇨🇺+🇺🇸

Omg‼️Where have I been‼️ I ran across this segment on this lazy Sunday on PBS.. I LOVED IT❕I looked for you on KZbin and subscribed right away. I love salmon so I’m totally down for the salmon salad.. with the Sangria😋 I am not fortunate enough to go catch my own but I’ll find the best salmon I can, of course wild caught. I LOVE your personality and watching you put the ingredients together! It’s an art form. Keep those awesome recipes coming and rocking the “community” spirit!!! I have to spend some time exploring your site.. including the pod. 🤗 Ana; a Cuban from NJ, USA

No disrespect, but as a native New Orleanian, you would never find mayonnaise or any condiment on a muffuletta. The olive salad is the condiment. Also, you would never find bacon in the olive salad. But I understand you are giving your own spin on it.

Dope video man! I am curious if you can call it a katsu sandwich without katsu sauce 🤔 looks delicious still! I'll be back for more 🤘
@SpatchcockFunk2 ай бұрын
Appreciate you! So we think so. Kastu basically means cutlet the way we learned it (and we don’t speak Japanese), and Kastu sauce is totally great for this… we just liked the sweet/tangy zip from the Kewpie/Japanese bbq sauce mix w the salt/crunch and acidity from the slaw to make a well-rounded bite. But Katsu sauce would kill it. Make both and side-by-side it!

Looks delicious, but…Prince of Purple Rain fame was actually a vegetarian most of his adult life right up until his passing away in 2016 so he wouldn’t have eaten the bacon.😂💜 Elvis actually ate the sandwich you made: two pieces of bread, spread thick with creamy peanut butter, topped with sliced or mashed banana, topped with thick strips of bacon, and fried in a skillet by his long-time cook, Mary Jenkins-Langston, who cooked for Elvis Presley for 14 years and passed away in June 2000 at 78 years old due to complications after two strokes. But Elvis did fly to Colorado for a similar sandwich called “Fool’s Gold”. As the legendary story goes on Southern Living magazine’s website, “after a 1976 concert, Elvis and his police bodyguards ventured to the now-closed Colorado Mine Company restaurant for a bite to eat. There, he ordered a Fool's Gold Loaf-a sandwich made with a loaf of sourdough bread, a pound of bacon, a jar of peanut butter, and a jar of jelly. (Estimates put the sandwich at a whopping 8,000 calories.) Fast forward a bit, and back at Graceland, Elvis got a late-night hankering for the loaf. And just as any good rock 'n' roll legend would do, he hopped on his private jet with a couple of friends in tow and flew to Denver. The owners of the restaurant met him at the hangar with a pile of the enormous sandwiches (some say they brought 22, others say 30); he enjoyed his Fool's Gold Loaf without ever leaving the hangar (stories say he paired it with Perrier and champagne), then headed back to Memphis.” 😉

Good recipe, but two things: 1) That little piece of red pepper on the stove was triggering me. 2) I kind of expected him to throw the pot after he dumped the pasta.
