Hi @mlb82gaming32, thanks for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate all feedback. This video makes this little climb appear easier than it actually is and an experienced climber will not find it very difficult. It does however provide some interesting challenges to a beginner, mainly at the start of the climb. There are plenty of good beginners climbs at Birchen. Enjoy your explorations.

Nice video, not many climbs to go now then. Interesting techniques there but I can't critcise because the last time I climbed it I damaged a knuckle by stepping up with my hand in a thin break. I will always remember the first time though because it was the first time I used cams, having just bought our first set of 3 from Outside.

We have however got plenty of content coming in the New Year, so please continue to watch and comment. Outside are well worth a visit. We were there recently. Have you seen my cam short? 😊 Enjoy your explorations and have a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Hi @edd-100, Thanks for taking the time to comment. I have checked out your information against that given in Rockfax and with other climbers who have climbed this route. All are confirming that the route is correct. Have you seen the climb by Johnny Dawes - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6qmkoameMl0ndE who climbed it hands free?!! I’m sure that his climb isn’t pure Chalkstorm, but who really cares as long as we achieve what we want out of a climb. Please keep commenting and watching. Your feedback is always valued. Enjoy your explorations.

Great video as always! Did you have any issues with access? Struggling to decipher how recent BMC RAD was updated
@Up-and-Around12 күн бұрын
Hi @jamejoc, Thanks for the comment. I’m very happy that you are enjoying the videos. We had no problem accessing this crag via the public footpath through the field behind the crag. You cross into the crag over a stile at the end of the field fence line, then make your way back the way you came to reach the crag. I can understand why the owner would be concerned, as the ground drops away steeply below the crag. RockFax says that the crag is owned by Nantyr Outdoor Education Centre Tel: 07587 293890 I hope this information is of some help. Enjoy your explorations.

Orange rope was caught on the cams on the left side of harness. I'm more interested in why the cam pulled out.
@Up-and-AroundАй бұрын
Hi Chris, this climb has been analysed by many viewers and the consensus is that the cam was dislodged when it was pulled upward by the jammed rope. It was than pulled out by the shock loading from the sudden loading from the fall. I hope this helps. Please keep commenting, liking the videos and subscribe to this channel. Enjoy your explorations.

Gear on the harness weighs you down. Another piece or two to back up that top cam, next time. Watching back you can see that the cam walked due to the extension being too short. It walked into a too open position. The helmet was a good idea.

Hi David, Welcome to the channel. It’s good to hear that you are both getting into your climbing. The sport routes are good and present a different set of challenges. In fact, we were out sport climbing on “Catch the Pigeon”, 4c * at Trevor Quarry, near Llangollen in Wales on the 29th October 24. That video will be coming up on the channel in the near future. You should try trad. There are some fabulous venues in this country. If you have a look through my 70 at 70 series of climbs, you will find plenty of accessible climbs to start you off. If you want specific pointers, let me know. Thanks for the comment and keep on watching and commenting. Enjoy your explorations.

Edge of the chair moment watching your “foot slip combo” on the lower crux: right foot slips, desperate left foot pops up onto the rope then rolls off and it too slips, exactly as you connect again with the high right smear (sharp intake of breath). Your body braces and you relax into an apparent stress free spotlessly clean ground up ascent. Pure magic.
