I failed medsurg 1 by 2%. I am feeling devastated and torn by seeing all my cohort pass onto the third semester. I am in an ASD nursing program. This summer semester was cruel, plus having a family. Now, I have to wait a whole semester to retake it and I am not sure if I want to go back.

I’m suffering chronic side effects being on this medication. This medication has made me bed ridden. Beware!
@MissLyntheRNАй бұрын
You would be the first I’ve ever heard of it making a person bedridden. There are trials prior to taking a long acting medication so any adverse effects should have been caught prior. Check with a good physician to rule out possible other things. I wish you the very best.

Not to insult, cause its true. Watch what you do with this sort of medication. It can severely alter someone's life, in those cases you need to actually be able to understand the patient and what in their condition is causing an outburst. Not to get scared because you haven't secured your body and are unable to reason with someone who cries out for help in unfortunate ways. Don't ruin someone's life over your comfort, can't handle the pressure, GET THE FUCK OUT OF MEDICINE

Hello Mrs. Lyn, I was wondering if you knew how big the pay gap is between a new grad psych nurse and one like yourself. My mom is a psych nurse and gets about $45 base, but doesn’t know what a new grade would be looking at.

No, not sure of the gap because there are just to many things to consider. Depends on where you work. Most new grads are making great money. Shift diff adds about $4.00/hr also.

As a general rule we put Benadryl in one muscle and the other two in another muscle as together it’s approximately 4mls. To much for 1 muscle. Also when you mix Haldol and Benadryl, precipitate forms in about 5 minutes. So no they are not “truly”compatible. Have I mixed all 3 and given in an emergent situation? Yes I have, but never when I don’t have to. I always say do what your facility would have you do. Thanks for your comment!!

Hello, you have to first choose a school to obtain your NP. Maryland and the DMV area have many options to choose from. Research what school you want to attend, see what credits/ courses will transfer over from your bachelors degree and start there. The school will tell you what your course of study should be, cost, and time frame etc. I wish you the best!

I'm from Brazil where padded cells and seclusion rooms were prohibited. Only bed restraints are allowed and must be followed by sedation. Once the patient is sedated the restraints should be removed long before he or she awakes. I think it's safer and more humane and provides a quick solution to a crisis.
