In a distant memory, Ive stumbled on a take about the heroes losing to Kefka, making him God and destroying the world. Like there was no point to killing Kefka other than just an obligation for an epic final fight. But i feel like thats a bit of a misreading to the dilemna. Because Kefka did lose and the Heroes won. Even when Kefka won, the Heroes never lost hope. They are fighting Kefka at its peak, while they are at their lowest. And yet, with determination and their combined strengths, they defeated the god, ending tyrrany from thriving and begin rebuilding their broken home. Sending a message that no matter how grim or dire a situation can be, as long as we keep hope and work together, we can overcome any obstacle in the way. As long as there is a fighting chance, nothing is impossible.

this doesn't look like something that was created by a human, it's like Kefka is using its own powers to make us feel fear and now what's like to fight a god. how this was done on a SNES will forever be a mystery to me...

Playing at the funeral for at the very least, 2 reasons: 1) Because it's Epic End-game music. 2) To make those attending to appreciate a good tune, unplug from devices and to make then sit there for 17 minutes. The last hurrah.
@MarceloKatayamaАй бұрын
Not to step on your parade, but do you seriously think that the attendees would stop using their devices whilst a 17 minute composition is playing? Seems a bit too optimistic.

It's an interesting analogy, but it's not the deepest thing ever. People definitely use it a lot lol Also, I think that to describe this piece accurately people would need to know a bit about music theory and composition, so it's much easier to just copy and paste that one line they heard from some guy on yt

Finished FF6 for the first time yesterday (top 6 game for me no doubt)!!! Despite having known just how Kefka would turn out going into the game, he is easily one of my favorite villains in any rpg and also one of my favorite final bosses due in no small part to this song. Don't think I've played many games where the big bad was such a lunatic, he was a blast everytime he was on screen! I don't really know what to say about the song itself, sounding like a broken record here but it might just be my fav boss theme in any game. Thanks FF6 you were such a fun time :)

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy should have included this version of Dancing Mad, all 17 minutes of it. It would be the rhythm game version of a superboss.

This is so boring to me.. why do other people like this track so much.. weird..
@ViddyWellSA112 ай бұрын
People like this track so much because it's brilliantly written, thought-provoking and insanely ambitious, considering it was composed by a self-taught (Nobuo Uematsu) despite a number of hardware limitations. It perfectly describes the nature of the villain (Kefka) and the ominous, apocalyptic feeling of the game. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly fine if you find it boring, but to me it's pretty obvious why this particular piece gets so much praise.

I have the unresearched feeling that Uematsu is an Emerson, Lake and Palmer fan. The start of the final part sounds a lot like Tarkus.

how i wish there was an early 70s style bass, drums, hammond organ/synth trio (with some electric guitar in there) cover of this - with that lighter, more technical, but still intense at times, playing style - early-mid 70s elp is what i have in mind
