I've been looking for a machine that will get rid of thick weeds growing out of patios. Will this machine work better than the Ryobi cordless patio cleaner ?

Are you still there? Firstly thank you for the video, it helps a lot. Secondly, what happens if you hit a rock or the concrete on the edge of the path? Finally, are safety glasses required? Thanks in anticipation.

The older models have a door that opens covering the blade. The unit gets clogged with dirt- it’s supposed to be a safety thing. I see yours is open letting grass and dirt to clear out this getting a better cut and not have to struggle- I’m going to modify mine to open up blade area-

Thank you for the video. I purchased one of these because trying to edge. My yard was killing my back. I’m hoping that it does what needs to be done. My driveway has so much overgrowth. The former owner didn’t do anything for probably 10 years.

I have both this Edge Hog and the Black & Decker Grass Hog string trimmer (GH900). I haven’t used the Edge Hog in several years, because the string trimmer works so much more efficiently for edging when I rotate it to the vertical position and use the built-in wheel to move it along the concrete edge. Lighter and easier to maneuver as well. I’d probably need the Edge Hog for trench digging, but I almost never do that.

Its for home use, affordable and effective. However, in the video I have used it while the grass soil still wet. For better result, use it while the soil is dry so the digging will be faster and cleaner.

Can you guys do a demo of the trenching feature? I need to redo my garden bed edges because the grass has grown over and made them a mess, but I'm not sure if I should use the edger or the trenching feature. I think I have a Craftsman though.

This is a great affordable way to do the stairs. I think cutting the existing bull nose flush with the riser, and then installing a new fully rounded bull nose is the way to go. Im not at all hating, if this is the budget then im all for making it work with what you have. Great job
