I was hoping you'd stop and just put in a little channel on the slab to run out under the block. Cleaning any grease and drippings out is gonna be a nightmare.

Question…when you were in 15’ of water, why not adjust your display depth to 15’? Wouldn’t that have given you more display? Seems like a lot of wasted display showing way below the bottom.

If you line the bottom of your barrel stove with firebricks, and get some kaowool to line the upper portion of the barrel, it should last a very very long time. It's sheltered from the rain, and by protecting it from the fire it didn't burn out or rust out for many years

Those Ol side hammers can be addictive to some of us, I have never fired an in-line, and have no desire to! in fact if I use anything other than my Lyman GPR, it will probably be a flinter! ( you may find your self wanting to take that New Englander out again! )

This might be a really dumb question. I smoke fish and pretty much only fish so I’m sorry if this is dumb. But since the chub is already cooked and you’re just tried to get it exposed to smoke and rub wouldn’t it be better to slice the chub in 1/4 in slices or whatever thickness you usually eat this at and then smoke it? Maybe even lower than 225? Would that be a disaster?
@Sappwildoutdoors4 күн бұрын
Not a dumb question! Your thought process is correct and I actually made Christmas dinner appetizers yesterday by cutting the chub down in smaller sections. The more surface area exposed will allow more smoke to penetrate. I personally love the smoke flavored edges and the skillet fried center So that’s why I did the chub whole. You can’t really mess it up!! I think you will be happy with the outcome of what you described! Let me know! Got any tips for me on smoking fish? Thanks.

Great video. I laughed a little about the white bass. When I’m crappie fishing LOZ I’m ticked off when I catch a whitey. As soon as I catch one I move off that spot 😂. They do fight like crazy. Merry Christmas everyone

Thanks for watching! Unpopular opinion, but I absolutely love white bass.🤣 Great fight and fry, but definitely not a crappie! Drop me a pin next time you find the whites 😉. Have a Merry Christmas.

@ don’t get me wrong. When I’m fishin for white bass I love catching them. They school up on the flat across from our condo on the gravois in the evenings and they whack a spoon. But when I’m crappie fishing I want the slabs. 😂

I’m throwing Wild Willy’s Baits. Sold in a couple stores down near Norfork Lake AR and he may sell from his FB page if you reach out. Also, These baits are close to the same profile of a Kietech Easy Shiner and you can order from Kietechs website! Best of luck on the Lake!

The daily limit is 20 per person and only allowed to gig rough species of fish in the River. These sucker fish are not normally targeted with rod and reel so gigging helps keep the population in check. We also eat every one of these that we gig so nothing goes to waste! Some of the best fish you can eat in my opinion.

Does having the forward facing sonar make you screen watch more and spend less time looking at the water? If I got it I would be standing above it, would the fish still be easily seeable from above? Thanks

Does it have a auto feature?
@Sappwildoutdoors19 күн бұрын
The auto feature is just an auto setting for the cleanest picture settings. I was really hoping the auto feature would automatically adjust for the depth of water for the biggest/ best picture. I had it set on automatic here and it just adjusts for gain picture quality. Hope this helps.
