Been a blue belt for 3.5 years, and the one thing I remember when I received it was someone saying, "It's a trap." 5 years in and I'm still waiting for the easy rolls.

This is me too..I can defend myself against somebody in the street..but in a jiu-jitsu class, when rolling I get tapped all the time lol

I roll with a blue belt a lot and I see the same problems I have. I’m too aggressive, too eager to prove to myself I can tap a blue or purple belt, jump the gun on submissions I don’t have secured. Slow it down, saves energy and allows you to grapple smarter

Back in the day at my old gym . The bluebelts including myself were beasts. The instructor use to have us team up by belt color. We would have a belt color vs belt color tournament. We'd sweep the white belts , demolish the purple belts . We wanted brown belt and black belt blood . 😁😎
