Chiefy, never mentioned it before, But your finish is really nice on the Corsair. Especially since its more of the funscale original type build.. The finish makes it look very scaled out. I have my wing mostly framed up. Working on a couple planes.. Framing mostly... not able to do finish work right now as I am building away from home... Love those gentle Corsair flying habits..

@@foodstick I know the chap that did all that work. I fly with him in the Dawn Patrol. He glassed it and spent ages on rivet detailing and simulating the flaps on the wings. He did a fantastic job. When he acquired it the nose had been taken clean off up to the cockpit. You wouldn’t even know it had been smeared down a runway. Fair play. I think I’ve said before I love flying this plane. It’s my all time favourite go to. Such an easy plane to fly with no nasty vices. I think you’re gonna love flying yours fella when it’s finished. I’m the same at the minute. I’ve almost got my 1/4.5th Hurricane ready for paint and then I’m moving on to finish my Seafury. That’s glassed just need to get the detailing in it. Thats having a Moki250 in it so I’m really looking forward to getting that in the air. Next year fingers crossed. The weather gods have been pretty bad to us in the UK. It’s either raining or blowing a gale. Looking forward to some more settled weather in September to get my fix before the winter sets in. Happy flying dude and thanks again for keeping my views active. Cheers buddy 🤛 I think I got some more footage to upload so I’ll sort that out next week. Take care and happy flying 🤛🤩

Chiefy, did you end up mounting the wing tabs into the center spar section like the plans? One bolt ..I think the plans actually call for a spring device to hold the pin in position. I was thinking a bolt and blind nut setup.. trying to keep it simple and light.
@CheifyRC2 ай бұрын
@@foodstick hey fella. Mines as per the plan. The outer panel is secured in with just one pin shaped as an L and undercarriage clamps used to secure in place. Here’s a link to these so you know what I mean. www.rcworld.co.uk/acatalog/Undercarriage-Clamps-Single-6SWG-Pk4-F-RAA1055.html#SID=438 I was worried about it at first but it works a treat and holds the outer panels in just fine. Using a bolt and a blind nut will be equally as good. One thing though the channel on the centre section is a tight fit so bolting them together could close it up enough to make it hard getting the outboard panels off. In the winter the wood swells just a smidge which makes them difficult to get on or off. 🤛best of luck matey and I’m looking forward to the maiden already 🤩👍

@@CheifyRC I had thought about using an L shaped pin and strong magnets, two on the back of the spar, two on the block attached to the Lpin.. I think it will work...

Looked at your use of a landing gear strap, and I don't think it can be much simpler and reliable than that, A person could even use a Allen wrench of the right size if they didnt want to bend wire.. Are there any really good forum boards you post on? I am on rcscalebuilder a lot..
