What a great tenor: this voice, this technique, the change of piano & forte, his articulation - you can understand every word...

Frederick’s was always the BEST Cherubino of Mozart and both are so excellent in this program. How lucky we were to hear them.

This a quartet from Kismet two men two women but workwell as a duet Hadley oh my, a beautiful lyric tenor I’ve only just found. Thank you, you tube. Hamptson as expressive as ever but I agree a meatier baritone would have made a better contrast. I sang the Caliphs part in 1964 in Keighley Good memories.

What a beautiful voice Mr Hadley possessed; What a terrible shame that his life was cut short far too early. Miss Jones sang wonderfully as well. There were so many beautiful American operettas composed in the early teens and twenties of the previous century that will last forever thanks to singers of this calibre, and for me, to the legendary Jeanette Macdonald and Nelson Eddy who introduced many of these wonderful melodies to millions of people with their wonderful singing, although not this particular tune.

I'm trying to remember something - I saw him sing Werther at NYCO in the mid 1980s and we knew we had witnessed an amazing performance - as well as one could at that horrid theater - and he got major good reviews for those performances and then he was called to make his Met debut a few days/weeks early to sub in as des Grieux in Manon at the Met because Leech or someone had cancelled and then my friend and I got there for standing room. How did we even find this out - before social media and such? That's what I'm trying to remember. Because we made it for his debut at the Met.

I remember standing in the wings with "#GregoryKunde" during this performance. At 0:50 when Jerry hit the thrilling b-flat, Greg turned to me and said emphatically, "he sounds like fucking Corelli". No more true words have ever been spoken. Love you, Jerry, miss you.

Hold on! So Michael Feinstein and Shirley Jones are chopped liver?!?! How did you overlook these giants of American musical culture? What a line up! For what event was this cavalcade of stars brought together? While I prefer to hear Garden Grow sung gloriously by mature adult voices, this was beautiful. More please!
