What camera would you recommend for taking photos and filming?

did you shot with A setting? I've the same camera and my first film isn't the best, pics are not sharp like yours, probably because I shot a 200 film with 400 iso with the 1/60 setting...

Don't buy it. Build quality is bad; the optical/digital viewfinder selector stopped working after a few months, so I had to cover che viewfinder on the outside to use it in digital mode only. After some time (4-5 months) the focus mode selector stopped working, I am forced to use it in AF-C mode only. The lens, when used at F 2, lacks a lot of details, but it adds some character to images. It's whe worst camera I've ever had, maybe I've been unlucky, but it surely not worth the price.

Those prices made me take a look at Nikon’s Zf and Zfc. I loved them so much I bought them both instead.
@Drehirth14 сағат бұрын
that's what i'm currently considering. The price for these fuji used and even old cameras are kind of insane. If you had to get only 1 as a beginner, do you think the zf is worth it? I'm afraid I wouldn't be good enough to appreciate the features of it compared to zfc, but at the same time I like the idea of full frame and growing into the zf longer term.

I like when people say digital cameras are film like. Then I know to never listen to them about anything, ever.

Had to return mine because the aperture was super floppy. The chinese knockoff version of this camera is even worse quality. it doesnt even have a changing aperture + the flash button works backwards.

Hey great shots and great review. I wonder why youtube always converts focal lengths to full frame though. Fullframe is way to bulky for travel :)

I'm new to photography in general, and I have a question. Is it possible to create this film effect with another digital camera? I'm planning to get a Canon r50 second-hand, because I've been told that it is good for both video shooting and photos. Any other camera recommendations would be great also, if it is not possible to capture the film effect with this.

People who disagree with using aesthetics as a criteria when buying a new camera neglect to realise that by being selective of looks, it can help hamper the onset of GAS. Like so what if a camera has the best specs and lens selection, if it looks ass, I’m not getting it and that just saved me a whole rabbit hole of GAS.

Cheap 😂
@desmondedwards630921 күн бұрын
So if you had the x100v and got the TCL converter, you’d have the equivalent of a 35mm and a 50mm correct. Although the TCL is bigger than the prime you’re talking about.
@desmondedwards630922 күн бұрын
So is this lens basically the same lens on the x100v or does it have different aspects to consider? Thanks
@jamestonbellajo24 күн бұрын
One thing to call out is the 35mm f2 has a cheaper XC version where while the optics are exactly the same, the body is plastic instead of metal and there is no aperture ring. If you’re fine with that, it’s usually $100-$150 cheaper than the standard lens so you can grab that with the 23 mm f2.

Can't Fuji just do a 27mm F2 and we'd all be happy?

Getting a small camera that's easy to carry everywhere helps a lot in doing this! The more you practice the better your photography will be

The 35 has much nicer separation, it's great for people and candid photography since you don't have to be that close. The separation and field of view is such that the images feel more alive when viewing them, you can feel like you are there in the shot, it feels 3D. In comparison the photos I get from the 23 are a bit bland and flat, like a boring phone snap. Maybe it's my technique, it certainly requires better skills to get an interesting composition, but it's hard to get that separation. Also, getting real close to fill the frame is like real close, inches from someone's face, so it's harder not to disrupt your subjects, like my family and kids. That being said, I did purchase the new x100 because of compactness and other features, and even though the ND filter enables me to shoot wide open, I'm considering getting the TCL to fill that need for candid portraits. One interesting method I saw see online is that you can approximate the 35 framing on 23 by shooting vertical and cropping the top and bottom, it's a helpful composition tool.

When I am in a situation and want a wider lens, I use the brenizer method en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brenizer_method But this is only really working on still and not moving images :)

Ayyy thank you my friend! Yes...it's actually top of my list to upgrade :) I don't think the X-E4 will get an upgrade tbh, but it's very exciting!
