You are forgetting that if Elon Musk were chosen to be Speaker, in the event of the demise of both the President and Vice President, a naturalized citizen would be taking the office of President. This would be unconstitutional, so I think it incumbent upon reason to reject the idea that a foreign born, naturalized citizen can be chosen to be Speaker. I would add that given the Speaker's position in the line of succession to President, all Constitutional requirements for the Presidency would have to be met by anyone seeking the position of Speaker. It also has to be taken into account that where the Constitution says that Congress shall choose its Speaker and other officers, when we look at the list of officers: Majority and Minority Leader; Whips; Chaplain; Chief Adminstrative Officer; Clerk of the House, and Sergeant at Arms, each of these positions is an elected one. It would be inconsistent to allow the Congress to choose as its Speaker ( an officer) who was not elected, given the forementioned. Besides, it has traditionall been the case, and without exception since the first Congress of this country, that the Speaker was chosen from within the ranks. How do you think the Supreme Court, which uses Originalism as a legal doctrine, can possibly grant the Speakership to Elon Musk??
