How does Frozen Shoulder behave in comparison to rotator cuff impingement?
@AlbertaRheumatology2 ай бұрын
The shoulder will have limited to no range of motion in all directions for Frozen Shoulder. For rotator cuff, range of motion may be limited, but it's due to pain. It can often be overcome on passive range of motion as compared to active range of motion. Certainly, they can both exist on a continuum. Great Question!

I have arthritis & a Baker cyst on my LEFT knee, When I go to the gym, I ride the stationary bikes & I peddle backwards. Does that help my knees, like walking backwards? Also, if I use the stair master, will that help my knees too?

Does the vacs exacerbate the conditions of rheumatoid arthritis?
@AlbertaRheumatology3 ай бұрын
Typically not. If anything, we worry what a covid infection will do for folks with rheumatoid arthritis.

Remission in 12 months seems to be less frequent than patients on prednisone for at least 2 years. But at least someone finally mentioned PMR, which is the most common rheum ailment of the elderly.
@AlbertaRheumatology3 ай бұрын
We agree that it seems less frequent than it should be. But very very possible!
@zootybeano2 ай бұрын
@@AlbertaRheumatology how is it very possible since prednisone only allows the person to get through daily activities and does nothing to induce remission?
@AlbertaRheumatology2 ай бұрын
For a number of conditions, we agree that prednisone treats symptoms. For PMR, it induces remission IF used properly. A slow gentle taper is key. Giving too much prednisone increases risk of recurrence. Going down to fast increases risk of recurrence. It's not perfect for everyone, but in those cases, we can use DMARDs to help.
@zootybeano2 ай бұрын
@AlbertaRheumatology Here we can't see rheumatologists. My husband is a semi retired internist though and we decided on Plaquenil and LDN. Dead slow taper by .25 got me from 20 to 3.5 in 18 months but it sure isn't gone, last CRP was just 1 though.

This was added for me because the MTX wasn’t working after six months. I had to go off of it after 10 days because I had a constant headache and heartburn that nothing would help.

Its available on Amazon. Actually other doctors have said the research shows it does not interact with other medications and herbs and it is helpful for rheumatoid arthritis and any inflammation. The side effects if any are minimal and it is safe for long term use. It can even help prevent and fight cancer.

Thank you for this video. I've currently been diagnosed with thus disease and treated at Walter Reed. I've read where this disease can be attributed to stress such as PTSD, etc. Is there any science behind this? I'm worried about being able to fully continue military service with this diagnosis.

Dry eyes and mouth are the least of my problems.. Arthritis, psoriasis,interstital cystitis,allergic rhinitis,decreased G.l. motility. Insomnia,depression. 25 lb. weight loss,dry vagina, muscle wasting and fatigue were just some of my symptoms before l finally got a positive ANA after many years.Doctors ignored symptoms and won't provide any pain management. Biologicals that depress the immune system are dangerous since l have a family history of lymphoma [also an increased risk with this disease].

sometimes i feel doctors avoid the sjogrens diagnosis because they will not admit there is no magic cure . eye drops, and pain meds are all they have in their BAG OF TRICKS. they can't admit they don't have all the answers, so they deny the diagnosis. 😮😢😢
