Try making meals. Use a 2 gallon zip lock bag and fill it with a meal. Like crackers, tuna, mayo, relish, fruit cups, velveta cubes, cookies and water bottles/juice box. That’s a meal in a bag. I like to create recipe ideas and we keep everything together. It’s easier in a disaster to grab a bag with a meal.

IMHO, first and most important 😉coffee and tea including a pour over device. Canned chicken or beef, ramen, instant potatoes, shelf stable milk, add water only pancake mix & syrup, ready pasta packets, pasta sauce, canned soup, chicken & beef bouillon cubes, "fast food packets"-mayo, mustard, ketchup, sauces etc. A lot of bottled water. A little camp stove & gas/propane for it. Candles, lighter, battery radio, small battery backup to charge phones-one that can be charged by solar or in a pinch in a car. All metal pot that can be used on a camp stove or a grill. Backup propane tank for the grill or the camp stove. Charcoal and lighter fluid, in case there is no propane. Wipes to clean/bathe with. Books, LOTS of books to read when there is no tv or easy access to the internet. & if you have a well system that stops all running water and you know the outage may come, fill your bathtub with water so you can use that to flush the toilets.

Shelf stable milk would be great for the cereal or added to rice/oatmeal for breakfast. Raisins for your oatmeal or rice. Also, a first aid kit with various pain relievers/fever reducer. And, in case of a longer term situation, a Walmart brand multivitamin would help with any dietary deficiency from the difference in emergency prep food. Vitamins and pain relievers last well beyond their expiration date (like years based on a military study) so not something that needs to be rotated. Hope this helps and prayers we never need our preps❤❤

I store extra water in all my old apple juice containers, and have at least 4 filled water containers under each bathroom sink. Inflation was/is world wide. Complain all you want but salaries are increasing and prices are decreasing. Instead of asking what Kamala is doing about it, ask the republican Congress what they are doing about it since the have the real power. They're doing nothing - too busy looking into Hunter's lap top.
@TheTexMexMom17 күн бұрын
I agree that many people’s salaries have increased which is good. Sadly, many people have told me that their salary increases have been more than canceled out by inflation. And at least in my area prices have for sure not decreased. (I wish they would!) This video isn’t political though - just sharing my experiences with grocery shopping and prices here in Texas. :)
@JTNugget20 күн бұрын
Almost everything is up 30-50% with some being 100+%. Please don't say something that went up in price 30% isn't a big jump. That is an insane price jump in such a short time. We are being squeezed because they printed so much money to enrich the rich and now the rest of us are all poorer for it.
@TheTexMexMom20 күн бұрын
Fair point! I guess when I said that I just meant it wasn’t as much as the items that jumped more than 100%. But yes absolutely 30% across-the-board is a massive amount more that we are spending each year and I know we are all feeling it. :(
@orawoodke759122 күн бұрын
So I’ve always done my shopping at Walmart and I knew exactly what the prices were and is pathetic because you’re absolutely right it has jumped about 40%. That’s a lot of money when you start adding it up every month. Everything you buy is gonna be $.40 more. And then I see Kamala Harris say that she is going to make people bring the prices down why haven’t she done that yet? What’s going on that she hasn’t taken the time to do this for us? It’s the middle-class peoples when she said she’s going to help we’re the ones being hurt the most, I’m not trying to bring politics into this. I’m just wondering why

Daaang, where do you live?? Unfortunately our closest store is a Safeway, and their chicken prices are currently like $6/lb! Even at Walmart, it's $4/lb here. It's cheaper to buy beef now, which is crazy. And their store brand eggs are almost $5/dozen--Target has them for about $4/dozen, which is even cheaper than WalMart but that's still INSANE to me that you got two for that price!

If you look at the increase in ground beef, steak, bacon, eggs, milk, chicken, the price increases are dramatic. My old receipts show these items at half or less than they are now. I wish we had an Aldis here, because I'm not finding these prices to be as good where I am - unless a special sale. Regardless, although some cheap processed items have changed less, most things have increased dramatically. They have also reduced the size of many packaged items. I just bought 5 lb bag potatoes for 4.99. I could find them in 2017 for 99 cents. Eggs could be purchased for 1.00 or less. I'm paying 3-5 dollars now. Ground beef was 99 cents per pound, now 2.99 to 5.99 lb. I could find bacon for 99 cents. Now I'm paying 4.00 to 6.99. Sirloin steak was 2.99 or less; now around 5.99. NY, tri-tip, ribeye steak has doubled and tripled in price -- I'm now paying 10 to 14 dollars a pound for those. When they talk of inflation, they hand pick certain items that have had less increase. Inflation and deflation (paying more for less), hidden fees; added fees to EVERYTHING. The current regime is killing average working americans.
