it is available, unfortunately with the name "notifier.exe" it gets quarantined by most email servers. No problem with NON WINDOWS versions though, or just re naming it.

I use the printer port YES. I have some systems using dry contacts with less information. In the future I would like to explore using the UDACT port.

@@firealarmapprentice4517 I had not heard of that UDART port. What would it allow you to do? I would like to be able to control the panel a bit more, maybe reset it or acknowledge, I know it can be done with the dry contacts on the panel itself, but being able to do something through USB would be interesting. At the moment what I do is connect the USB port to the raspberry pi where I run the web server and with USB IP I literally connect to the panel over the network. With VeriFire tools I can already disable or enable components. I would like something more practical than using VeriFire tools. Maybe being able to send a command from my web application, but for now I see it as complicated.

I use to use a PI but now I just use a linux laptop. It can also be done with windows.

We had one. I put on a ferrite bead and that seems to fix it. They are just rs485 so check the conductors and make sure it has the terminating resistor ?

@@firealarmapprentice4517 yes there is a bead on it but I’m not sure about the resistor. Simplex has put in two annunciators and replaced power supply bouts that feed the annunciator. Where does the resistor go and what is value?

resistor for rs485 is generally 120ohm and at the farthest point. Let me check the cut sheet before I say too much. what is the Rev ? @@frankspliff7037

YES. I went through the programming in the Video and the select does not match up with the LED.

Upload to the laptop with verifier tools then download it back to the panel. That will clear the program corrupt 99.9% of the time. If you don't have verifier tools or if you are in a remote area, there is a way to do it over the internet.

A lot of techs don't have access to the lookup table program and even if they do, its DOS based. DOS can only be run on DOSBOX or VDOS. Linux or Windows.

@@firealarmapprentice4517 never tried it. Didn’t wanna risk bricking my panel trying to upgrade it. Apparently, 4007s are easy to brick according to some of my friends who work in the field. I don’t work in the field yet, but know plenty who do and they told me I was better off not trying to firmware upgrade to the most recent Rev. At least it’s not the same story for other simplex products. It’s just the 4007s that “drop like flies during firmware upgrades” according to my contacts.

Simplex WAS the absolute best in terms of technology, and to this day the user features are 20 years ahead of anyone else. But they are not that fun to fix, not that fun to program anymore and not that fun to buy parts for any more. When I worked there it was the best times of my career.
