Zeiss scopes arent what they used to be evidently ,Accountants took over ,Have a Zeiss Victory 1-4 x24 died after 60 shots out of a 458 Lott while on a Buffalo hunt you could not even see through the POS ,sent it back to Germany to be fixed had ring marks on it they didnt even bother to tidy it up ,poor service ,Have a Zeiss Conquest 3-9 ,when you turn the power ring a piece of internal rubber hangs down in your view ,another POS ,I dont think I will ever buy another Zeiss scope

Need guidance on the first setup of new Zeiss v4 6-24 x 50. Specifically how to set zero on external windage (not capped) on very first sighting in of new scope A tutorial on how to use and set ballistic turrets Both windage and elevation would be great

I wonder how this compares to the older zeiss diavari fl 6-24×56? If they are basically identical internally except different outer turrets (because the inner turrets look identical)

I'm guessing he got a brand new replacement the 3rd time and he decided to wash his hands and sell it brand new in the box and switched to a more reliable brand such as Sightron. Otherwise there would have been a follow-up to this review. I don't blame him one bit. Once I quit trusting a scope sent back 3x I would also switch to more reliable brands with better quality control myself.

I have a just bought a 2004 r52 that has a rattle on startup when cold, disappears after a minute. Car was already warmed up when I went to see it. Would this cure the problem?
@vittorioymbang79723 жыл бұрын
What made you think it was the TCT? I couldn’t tell what rattling you were talking about. I think I may have the same problem. Please let me know or have a video before you replaced it. Thank you!

Update?

Me best guess is that he probably received a brand new replacement scope on the 3rd time around and decided to wash his hands on Zeiss and sold the brand new replacement Zeiss scope and switch to a more reliable brand such as Sightron. Otherwise there would have been a follow-up on this.

I wonder if you did use a spirit level on your printed target paper to get proper vertical also the bottom of the printed sheet is bowed in the middle which would throw out your readings or is your wall vertical most house walls are not true one wall in my house is 1/4 inch out, found out when putting in a kitchen cupboard. Just a thought.
@MrCyclone1013 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I used a laser level to line up the paper so that is as close to perfect as can be, and I then aligned the reticle with the laser at a low magnification to make sure the error is as small as I can get it. The walls are very close to vertical, about a 0.2in variance over the 13ft height. I have measured it previously because we have used it as a projector screen. The one obvious error was the bow in the paper, after setting it up I didn't notice it until I started filming, I was honestly just too lazy to fix it again. I felt that the error would be small enough, but in hind sight I would have preferred not having it there. I have since tested 3 different Zeiss v4 scopes twice on different occasions each, so in total I have done 6 tests on 3 scopes. The last one tracks perfectly, so I kept that one. Honestly, I think this one of the best tracking scopes in the price range even with the slight error, but my last one is so good that it is almost perfect. I would happily buy another Zeiss V4.

Where did you buy it
@MrCyclone1013 жыл бұрын
The first one was from a local store in South Africa, Safari&Outdoor, the second one was sent to me by Zeiss from Germany.

Unless your board and paper is not level or your level is out
@MrCyclone1013 жыл бұрын
I'm glad that yours is well aligned, I just received my third one, I will test it this coming week. On my video you can clearly see the reticle is not aligned with the paper but then it tracks vertically with the lines, so it is not a level problem unfortunately.

@@MrCyclone101 how did the 3rd unit go? What is the serial number range, if the 3rd unit worked out…. Or is the No Update because these Japanese assembled Zeiss conquests are just not up to snuff? Thanks for the info thus far, very much appreciated brother… (I have one of these on Hold in store, but I’m second guessing going through with it now. Had a crappy experience with a Japanese assembled Zeiss range finder a few years back…. 3 units till I got one that didn’t have a lense element rattling around inside the body… I shit you not…

The reticle misalignment is probably small enough that most people would never have known it was there, at 100moa withy rifle I would be shooting at more than 2000yards, so wind would easily overshadow the 0.5 moa shift, but knowing it is there bothered me. Hopefully it comes back better aligned.

do you have automatic or manual car.
@MrCyclone1013 жыл бұрын
I have a Manual gearbox R53 Mini Cooper S JCW. I don't know if the cooling system on the auto gearbox impedes access from the top of the engine bay, but if you can feel the bolt head you should be able to undo it.
@blackeagle123353 жыл бұрын
I think I read on the North American auto forum that the automatic transmission is a bit easier cause there are no cooling lines in the way and it’s also a bit easier if you put the socket on the bolt before you attach the breaker bar

hello. friend. nice to meet you. I am also going to replace the tensioner for r53 timing chain. Should I install new parts as-is? Do you have any precautions~?... Please advise. Thank you.
@MrCyclone1014 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can take the new part right out the box and install it as is. It comes from BMW pre-compressed for easy installation. Nothing else to worry about.
