I love this music and performance. Nothing has both stirred me and punched me in the chest like this for years. Thank you.

The arrangement and the musicians are fantastic/magnificent -- very etherial -- a combination of lightness and darkness. ***Jonathan Russell, great job!

Bravo! I'm jealous that my town doesn't have a 12-member bass clarinet choir.

Wow, didn't know (bass) clarinets could get that high! I thought that written C7 was the absolute top note for clarinets, this seems to go up to F7!

So beautiful. I’ve never heard so much from the upper range of the bass clarinet, and an entire ensemble produces such haunting harmonies and dissonance. I’m glad KZbin randomly recommended this channel, I am excited to delve into more Improbable Beasts!

'The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo: she succeeded in getting its body tucked away, comfortably enough, under her arm, with its legs hanging down, but generally, just as she had got its neck nicely straightened out, and was going to give the hedgehog a blow with its head, it would twist itself round and look up in her face, with such a puzzled expression that she could not help bursting out laughing: '

@@jonathanrussell6833 Of course, that would be amazing! Who wouldn't want to play with a bunch of bass clarinets?! (What's the collective noun for bass clarinets? Could we call it a "squonk" of bass clarinets?)

Beautiful. Exquisite playing -and heartfelt-by you two! The opening movement is spellbinding, the inner movements dance compellingly. And the last movement’s doleful echo of the opening movement returns me to earth. That’s what I heard today anyway. Thank you and congratulations!
