Watched the musical live back in 2002 when I was in yr 10. Somehow my brother got his hands on the vhs in 2003 or 2004 and I watched it nearly daily while studying for my hsc. I got it on dvd and watched it everytime I studied between 2005 to 2011! So glad I’ve found it online 😊😊

Im 38 now, and i remember watching this on a vhs that we recorded from sbs. I watched it so much for a while, maybe once or twice a week. Whenever someone says 'a paradox' i think in my head 'a most ingenious paradox' ahahahahaa. I didnt know why the pirate king would open his shirt to applause but i loved it nonetheless. This is my favourite musical, all of the cast are incredible from the leads to the supports to the backgrounds. Such an amazing spectacle. Love it.

Being the purist I am, and having sung Frederick in my "younger" days and having conducted a production of Pirates, I was thoroughly blown away with the creativity and talent in this production. I enjoyed every minute of this production. Bravo to all.

I was on her I think it was 1964 when we went to Aden. There were many times that I was so glad to hear the fans on after returning from a weekend off. The walk from Union street to the dockyard was a killer. I also remember all of the bars around Terror as well

This whole show is fantastic. It made my childhood. Jon English dominates every single scene he is in, and in particular, 1:57:43 onwards CHANGED MY LIFE. It is an emotional anchor point I ALWAYS keep coming back to!!! Enjoy, all those who see it for the first time! It is almost 7 years since the passing of Jon English, who will always be to me, the One and Only, Pirate King. Jonathan James English 1949 - 2016

The acapella is a gem, one of Britain's great secular hymns. This production is the best that wasn't an original. The harmonic changes are so inventive. Singing the original with their variations is fun. There has to be a good 70 minutes of riffing on the original. I usually find some variations pointless compared to the original. Sullivan was a gift to humanity, and Gilbert too. The primary character actors are fantastic.

This is exactly how I first saw the Thursford Museum and as a child I was mesmerised by the organs, the engines and the beautiful white wonder machine, the ex Leeds odeon Wurlitzer. Robert has been there almost 43 years I think now and he is a super guy both on and off the keyboards. I must also go back and visit this magical museum and sit and listen to the Wurlitzer again. Thank you for the memories. The Wurlitzer sat on its own and not on a big stage with the Chambers free too. Wolfe and wurlitzer vol 1 and vol 2 show it in the early days too.
