Reeves contradicts himself. First he says that the cutting process is limited in how much frequency response one can put onto a lacquer master - which is true. Later, he says how they've (supposedly) gotten all this bass information onto the new masters. Somehow the limitations and physics have changed over time, while the cutting process "hasn't changed in sixty years"?

So we won't be allowed to hear the extended bass and treble on the tape because this is only LP? Gee, thanks Apple.

what has to be realized though is the UK albums didn't have the FATTER BASS and was in fact more cleaner compared to the US mixes which were introduced by the re-mixing phase. there are a few comparisons to consider - butchering the original UK tracklist, the UKs were roughly 18 minutes per side and usually 7 tracks. - the US have 6 or even 5 tracks per side and more around 15 minutes per side. - the UK grooves were more narrower vs the US wider and maybe a bit deeper. on top of that the US mix was vastly different to the UK now wether this was technically for a US market (you know the hype that USA and 'European' radio or sound sound better than the other) or that Capitol was just too bloody lazy to have create more precise cuts like classical records who knows and why they had to do it. then again The Beatles could have been viewed as a unknown group who could have a hit wonder and have fallen over after one album so why bother with the extra care factor. history tells us what eventually happened yet that didn't stop Capitols butcher factory ceasing many years later until the group said get screwed if where going to be compromised again when the were going to issue Sgt. Pepper album even so Capitol had the last moronic laugh when couldn't even include the dog tone and cryptic centre locked groove. all the above factors leads to Capitol or even the smaller US labels essentially cheating the US customers out of listening to an as intended UK mix that was at its best left alone. imagine now or back in the day when your friend bought you the UK mix to the USA and found it sounded much better than the fat US mix.

I bought 5 records of this set individually (instead of the box set) on The Beatles Official Store. They charged $8 per record for shipping - total of $40 for 5 records - which is crazy and outrageous. It really pissed me off!

This should have been done in 2004 when they released the Capitol masters. They released the CD not the vinyl. I’m thankful to be alive to see release 😊

I remember back when I bought some of these Capital releases at a store within walking distance from the home we lived in. My mom would give me the 3.57 I needed to make the purchase without my dad knowing. Haha. I was around 10 or 12 yrs. old. What great memories of discovering Beatlemania. Those copies are long gone. My pre order is in. Can't wait to relive it again.

The intrusive Dexterization, reverb, compression, echo, and of course fake stereo that is on the Capitol stereos is largely absent from the monos.
