Our "Gus" is ~6 years old and about 1 pound overweight at 19 pounds. He’s a DLH Ginger/White that’s a lot like a Maine Coon we were blessed with when our kids were young, (except that Gus is very vocal). He’s like a "Rock Star" at our Veterinary Clinic and every bit as gentle as the Maine Coon. It’s our grandson who has this incredible friendship with Gus, much like his Mom did with Bogart, the aforementioned Maine Coon. Cats are AWESOME!!

From what I observe from stray cats, orange cats are calm, grey cats are the ones who will steal from a dinner table, black cats are good at hunting especially at night, white cats are always ready to escape but fast to open up to humans, while the calico cats are the ones who holds big territories in the city. Idk if it's the same in other places.

I’ve had two orange tabby cats and both were female and both were very affectionate and talkative. They both got to be rather heavy (almost 16 pounds). One was always rather sickly and ended up diabetic and died at 13. Her name was Peanut. The second is named Waffle and it still going strong at 15. She’s like my shadow and loves to sit on my lap and purr, just like Peanut used to do. I love my orange girls!

I had a ginger girl (a stray), and currently have a ginger and white girl atm. Both are kinda grumpy and territorial, which got worse with age (tho they did grow up together). They both are pretty picky about when they like to be picked up, and I actually didn't pick up the full ginger at all for years because I was afraid of getting bitten. But she'd sit with my Mum on the arm of her chair all the time. That being said, the full ginger girl would purr every single time we were around without fail her entire life, and as the ginger and white girl has reached her senior years, she very often purrs when near us too. They are overall pretty affectionate when they want to be towards their favourite humans, but it has to be on their terms. My tuxedo cats (1 stray boy, 1 rescue girl) are far more chill

My purple cat was odd. Liked to be wet all the time swam in the pool, liked to be carried around by his tail and tossed up into the air and caught. He would play fetch with q-tips and sit on command. Got it for my ex wife, it didn't like her and only came to me, the only purple cat I have ever seen.

Surely the interesting thing about cat coloration is not its diversity but, on the contrary, how fixed and constrained it is. Or alternatively the link between certain colours and sex.

Gearlock is the most greedy, Everdell only wants cuddle, Azul loves sleeping on my lap... They're all 3 so lovely and affectionate! I love them so much! (they were born in my garden, I Have 9 cats!)

Another quirky thing about orange cats is they get 'freckles' on their lips and nose as they age. It's adorable! I brought my red tabby home at 7 years old, with no freckles, and now, at 14, she's got several dark-brown freckles. So sweet :D

I’m a dog person but I had an orange cat who melted my heart with how sweet he was. Demanded my attention and only got upset if someone else tried to take my attention. We had brother and sister litter mates. Our orange boy was lovey, cuddly and very charming. Also very big. His sister, a blue and white little sweetie was, by contrast, quiet, retiring and aloof. And tiny. Very different prrrrsonalities.

I lived with a family who had a giant orange cat who would walk up to you, stretch its arms up and try to crawl up your body to your chest and then hug you. Such a sweet cat. No idea why it liked to do it that much, but it was very cute. Big boy too

We had an orange cat show up at our back door one day. He walked in like he owned the place. Went to the kitchen then inspected the basement. Then he left. This happened three or four times. We saw a 'Lost Cat' and called. The lady said "Oh, that's just Clyde". Apparently he's a neighbor's cat who goes house to house conning people into being fed and allowing him to inspect their homes. Clyde the con artist 😺🐈❤

My orange cat was female; a rescue whose markings had very aspect of being a Maine Coon, w-the "M" marking, fur between the toes, 18 lbs., nice temperament etc. but was supposedly the sister of the classical black & white tuxedo cat -- so I'll never know.

Yes the only orange cat I have ever had was male, and it would creep into bed with me. It was lost when it was a year old and sorely missed.

i once adopted an Org. & White stray. Very scared at 1st, hiding under the bed; but in 6 days he'd sleep by my chest and was a purring alarm-clock. Named him after my fav. dessert, Creamsicle.

I had an orange boy named Billy. I would put my hand behind his front legs, pick him up & flip him over at the same time. He would lie on his back on my arm like a baby & slow blink & purr while I rubbed his belly. He would sleep on my feet & wake me in the morning by standing on my chest & gently head butt me awake. I miss him. He was the best.

I love my big orange Tygrrr but truth be told hes dumb as box of rocks. And he hates everyone except me. We are totally bonded and i love him so much, its just kinda difficult to have friends over because he's always trying to make them leave.
