I installed Flash Floppy on the Gotek SFR1M44-U100K emulator with AT32F415 chip, then installed the OLED display and encoder according to your scheme. There is only one problem: only the button works on the encoder and scrolling does not work. Could this be a problem?

I've been using my Windows Dev Kit 2023 daily for past 15 months. I think it's an excellent PC and noticed significant improvements in Windows 11 arm, drivers / firmware, x64 emulation, and increasing number of Windows app with arm64 versions. I've just upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 preview release. This includes the new Microsoft Prism x64 emulator and improved graphics driver. It's given me >10% performance uplift on Geekbench 6 and gaming performance. I rerun Unigine Valley using the same settings as you and results were FPS 29.3, Score 1224, Min FPS 15.3 & Max FPS 52.3. I also run Jetstream 2.1 and result was 213.107. I plan to purchase the Qualcomm Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows 2024 which comes with the top tier Snapdragon X Elite processor, 32 GB RAM and 512 GB Fast NVME SSD. Interesting to see how it's performance compares with the Windows Dev Kit 2023. I am expecting around double the performance.

Thanks for this comment. I updated my ms dev kit 2023 to Win 11 24H2 and it seems that all difficulties in office work have been resolved. My Canon and HP printers have been working great. Performance also increased significantly compared to Win 11 23H2

Goodnight. I am from Brazil. I need help. I installed the Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL on the Yamaha PSR620 Keyboard, and it is not working correctly, I created 10 virtual disks on the pendrive, using the Floppy Manege software, Gotek only recognizes disk 000, it does not read the other created disks. I need to know if I have to put the FF.CFG and img.CFG files in the root of my pendrive?

Thanx, just did this and it worked well. It will be interesting to see if the lower memory is an issue later on. Apparently due to the chip shortage they started using a cheaper clone of the STM32 that has less memory, doesn't affect Gotek's firmware but for FlashFloppy it can be problematic.

Yeah, I have that in autoexec.bat. Without it the AWE pretty much doesn't work at all. However I have not set /R or /C so maybe you're hearing the reverb and chorus, but as this is the default it's how I wanted to record it, with default configuration.

The nice thing is that, except for the rotary controller, you don't need to solder. I just did one myself and haven't yet done the rotary controller. To enable the Gotek for programming, I just used a jumper wire (a male to male dupont) on the two pins, and it held in place really well. And I had a USB male to male cable I bought years ago. So this is the most non-solder friendly solution (short of buying one someone else has built ;-) Gotek solution out there.. ;-)

Just an FYI for those without the skills to do this work: Gotek drives with the encoder, OLED & speaker mods and FlashFloppy firmware installed are available on eBay for around $50. After the first time I did all these mods myself I’ve valued my time more and then just bought multiple completed units off eBay and have them working in multiple vintage S-100, TRS-80 and OSI computers in all cases in parallel with a real floppy drive to allow copying between them.

Hi. Thanks for the video. Can you please specify what is "Aaru's fstester" ? It is not clear on the github description. It is some decompiler tool you created? Regards
@TinkeringDaemon
@TinkeringDaemon 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, fstester, or Aaru Filesystem Tester, is a snippet designed to create files with specific, known, set of parameters, utilizing all the aspects and capabilities of the host operating system, to be used as part of the reverse engineering process, as well as the implementation set, in the development of the Aaru Data Preservation Suite. In the example of OS/2, it will create files with creation dates, extended attributes, long filenames, etc, that I have used to reverse engineer how OS/2 stores the EAs in the FAT filesystem, and can also be used to see how a NFS share, a NetWare volume, or a Lan Manager server store them. While on Linux, it would create things like symbolic links, hard links, sparse files, etc.
@MartinIturbide

@@TinkeringDaemon Thanks for the reply. Even that I'm an OS/2 user, the reverse engineering subject (and deep kernel development) are things I'm not used to. At the OS/2 community we had tried to include as much development knowledge on the EDM2.com wiki, and we hang out at the OS2World.com forum. If you ever want to write something about your OS/2 findings, please let me know. Saludos desde Ecuador.
