Thoughts and advice on practice for non-kabbalists: This is an *astoundingly* well constructed and formulated bit of metaprogramming meditation, technically, artistically, and conceptually. It really hits the full set of vital "spiritual" concepts in a single meditation. As always, repetition and practice will see it become more effective. You don't need to be a kabbalist or believe in Jewish myths for it to work. It's easy enough to "reskin" the names and ideas invoked, as really, all these concepts are universal concepts, it doesn't matter what name or label is used. For example: When he says "Hashem", you can consider this like Brahman, the Unborn Buddha Mind, the Pleroma, Source, The Force, the TAO, Wu Wei, the ALL, the entirety of a scientific reality, or whatever metaphor for the biggest BIG IDEA you happen to prefer. When he says to choose a Kabbalistic teacher from the Torah, pick a great teacher who you vibe with from anywhere. I tend to choose a different one each day. One day I chose the Zen master Bankei, the next I chose Robert Anton Wilson, today it may be Aleister Crowley, Al Ghazali, Nasruddin or Diogenes... The point being is you can use this excellent meditation formula, and wherever a part is a bit too Kabbalah specific for you, you can swap it out for an equivelent idea you have a relationship with already. NLPers will grok some of the methods here too. Highly HIGHLY recommended for daily practice. I have a lay-down after lunch and practice this, for the last few days after finding it and it has been tremendously effective. As always you get out what you put in, and you need to really invoke the emotional states at one point, and cycle through them as he says them. Chosing different memories each day is good too, depending on how many such experiences you have to draw on. Doing this will help you rediscover ones you may have forgotten. You will get better at that with practice. If you practice it, you will be doing highly effective "spiritual" and neurological metaprogramming, with very positive outcomes.

Hi Rivka. I met you in 2004 at your parent's house one Shabbat. I was converting to Judaism and had started out with the ultra-Orthdox but ended up in Modern Orthodox/Traditional. I'm not as religious as I once was but I found my balance too. Maybe in Modern Orthodoxy you would feel more comfortable. I was in my early thirties when I met you as a teenager and I thought you would find your own path. I felt your strength back then. I am glad you found your peace. I hope we meet again someday.
