So I've been using the z plus ones on my black rotors that I purchased from Lyndell direct, along with my brembo calipers. I'm having issues where I get a lot of fade and they're really not working out anywhere near as well as I thought for 13 inch rotors with the brembos and those Z pads w/duel 13" disk in the front, & single 11.8 in the rear, Brembo frt/rear. On an 18 Roadglide Special. Lyndell suggested using the extreme pads. What will that end up doing to my rotors as far as longevity with a daily, somewhat aggresive rider, as far as chewing up the rotors??? Kevin

our Z Plus pads are our softest compound. While they are great for cleanliness and noise, they are lower stopping torque and meant for commuting/touring, not aggressive riding. For aggressive riding I'd switch to our Xtreme or Sintered Xtreme compound, will be a night/day difference just changing the pads. The harder pads will pull the black finish but leaves a nice contrasted look. Contact me directly and I'll help you out. 7372135819 or at [email protected]

Is there a piston sequence for those monoblock brembos? I have the same style on my motorcycle. I recently inspected the pistons, I pushed them out with the brake lever so I could clean them. I noticed that they extend in an offset pattern (front left and Rear Right extends more than the remaining two pistons). Since seeing the pattern, I figured it shouldn't be extending in that sequence.

I talked to the customer service team about your issue. And you are correct we do not warranty for minimal thickness wear on our rotors. Our warranty guarantees for the life of the rotor to never warp when using our brake pads. Your issue is that you reached minimum thickness on the rotor then continued using the rotor until it failed. Quick note about that: depending on which brake pads you use (along with riding style) the rotor lifespan will be different. z+ pads ~65k // Gold + pads ~35K // Xtreme ~25K

@lyndallbrakes
@lyndallbrakes 3 күн бұрын
Use the 5.1 brake fluid for everyday rider and it will last the longest before needing to be changed. (Approx. every 9 months) Use the 660 if you get your brakes hot (riding two up or going up and down steep grades) but you will want to change your fluid more frequently (Approx. every 6 months)

You should check them for any sign of wear, scratch. First indicator are the brake pads, if they wear evenly, the caliper pistons are fine, if the brake pads looks like a slice of salami, chances are you have a one or more pistons to change

This is Chris with Rattler Performance Works in Cosby TN . I run Lyndall rotors on my 2015 FLHXS , Crown cut rotors on Prodigy wheels , Extreme pads , Brembo M4 calipers . It stops hard and fast , I also have Bow tie cut on my CVO Vrod 2005 , I will say the titanium hardware is NOT CHEAP but it finishes off the nice product . Best in the business 💪

What about the spring retainer to hold the pads.
@lyndallbrakes
@lyndallbrakes 7 ай бұрын
we find that they are not necessary, as the body of the caliper traps the pads in place. They simply serve as a vibration dampener to reduce noise. We have done many track days with them and many without and have not noticed any difference in performance

@@lyndallbrakesIv found that when the heat builds after a session on track, the springs seems to expand and bind the pads to the disc a fair bit. Taking the springs out rectifies it. Is it normal for the springs to cause binding like this in these calipers?

I’ve had the black round style on the front of my 17 SG…I have a distinct pulsing in medium to hard braking..I have noticed since watching this video that these look directional…the left side gassing design actually travels backwards in comparison to the right..I’m not sure if that is causing the pulsing but the left rotor is glazing in spots. I emailed Lyndall but have not received a response. Just throwing that out. Aesthetically there awesome.

our rotors are meant to be ambidextrous, the direction of the gas slot will not affect performance at all. If you are having any issues please email [email protected] to start a warranty claim. We will ask you to mail us the parts for warranty inspection and to include the brake pads. (our rotors are lifetime guaranteed against warpage when used with our brake pads)

I screw it, and i did the bleeding procedure. Pressure is okay, but each drain valve have a little sweating (not by the hole/neck, by the screw thread). I do not understand. There is no seal around there no ?

@lyndallbrakes
@lyndallbrakes 7 ай бұрын
depends on different factors such as, which brake pads you're using and how much dust they produce. We usually test piston movement by removing one caliper at a time from the fork, then pumping the brakes to exercise caliper pistons and inspect the rate at which they compress. All four pistons should travel in unison and pads should meet in the middle of the caliper. If not, clean pistons and repeat process until they do, replacing seals as necessary.

G’day Paul. Thanks for putting this video up for us. I’ve been using your Z-Plus pads on my 2009 Night Train since the very first pad change. One of my mates said to give them a go because of the very low dust compared to the OEM pads, and I’ve been running them ever since. Best brand on the market, thanks for what you and your team do.

Shitty method with the piston removal. I always stick something in the middle that passes trough the disc cutout and then two thicker plastic pieces, and boom, all 4 will move and none will fall out. ;)

it depends on a quite a few factors, but generally, if you kept calipers stock and changed nothing but the rotors and brake pads, you should feel significantly better stopping power (10% with our Gold Plus pads and 30% with our Xtreme pads. We also have more aggressive options if you are willing to change calipers

Nice rotors, but a little to pricey, here in Australia at a little under a $1000 each not very good
@lyndallbrakes
@lyndallbrakes Жыл бұрын
Our rotors do get pricy as we build our parts for the passion of riding and not to a price point. CNC machined, highest quality of steel, and meticulously measured and tested for a product built for a purpose. We do have new one piece rotors coming out that are not as expensive as our floating rotors. There are a few distributors (Rollies Speed Shop) and dealers in Australia that have our parts available, so you do not have to deal with international shipping and importing documents.

we have a few options, just depends on your goal and how far you want to go with it. We have rotors and pads in stock sizing to work with stock calipers that will give you a noticeable improvement in stopping performance. We also have options that include 13 inch oversized discs, brembo calipers, and brembo master cyl, which would be a night/day difference. This option can easily get up to $4k in price.
