Thank you so much for taking the time to send such a long and interesting reply Saudé. I'm sorry I don't write in Kazakh or Russian but I hope Google can translate as it did for me. I was very lucky to be able to visit the Nomad Games and since living in the country we have enjoyed so many traditional aspects of the great culture. We hope to see more! Thank you again, with very best wishes. Tim

Your cover is excellent but I think you missed the significance of " She wasn't all I wanted But she's all I'll ever need Oh, a rich man always wants some more And I was rich indeed" I think this meant he felt rich because he had Naomi"

Thanks for the comment and taking an interest. Mr McTell is a thoroughly nice bloke and I'm sure there was nothing mysogonistic about his original words - I just felt uncomfotable singing them. Purely a personal choice.

Good lyrics. We recently paid for a lavish church service for someone who was dead and, therefore, unable to appreciate it and now this, during a cost of living crisis. My thoughts will be with people who are cold and/ or hungry on Saturday.

Hear, hear! As a Canadian, while I love Britain as my beloved country came about due to the monarchy...it's time to disconnect from the current rubbish. I have many UK friends who came from there to here. I love the British people...not the Monarchy. Disgrace. ❤

Hey David - many thanks for the kind comment and great to hear from you. Pleased you're still at it too. Can't keep us old folkies down. Still picking and singing a bit too but currently living in Kazakhstan so Dylan and 'This Land is Your Land' and the like isn't so well known. Sometimes the odd gig when I make it back to Blighty but that's not often. I hope you're doing well and well done for your own clips. Have fun at the Dylan Fest. All the best. Tim

@@nondescript11 Thanks Tim. Great to still be at it. It would be great to do a song or two together if your in the vicinity at some time in the future. I'm doing a number of collabs with both old folkers and rockies and run a skiffle group for MIND the mental health charity. Kazakhstan!

@nondescript11 Do you remember us: we had a duo? Keith and Cherry Meddings ? Stamford Arms etc. Lots of musical people.. Terry Masterson, Spud Taylor , etc etc. Cherry died last March, after a long physical illness for which she refused treatment for religious reasons. My changed name also had a story. I understand you are in France? K
@nondescript11 Жыл бұрын
@@kaymeddings4162 Hi again Kay - yes, certainly remember the names but I'm very sorry to hear about Cherry. I'm pleased she was able to share in what were the best of times for us folkies in a lot of ways. Yes, I moved permanently to France over 40 years ago but I'm now based in Kazakhstan (honest!) where my (new) wife is teaching in a French school. All good fun. Not playing a lot but do the occasional pub gig when I get back to Blighty. I hope you're still keeping your hand in too. Thanks for getting in touch. Tim
