9:21 it's recommended to trim the main beams further if the grid is not square, but didn't we wire them into place already? Do we have disassemble everything we've built to achive this? Any help is appreciated! My square is off by about a half inch.

The Armstrong site says to place the rails 12” apart. This video shows 18” between rails.

To be honest I found this video really helpful! Always was struggling to bent the wire and looks like I was doing a mistake cos I was trying to bend it at the same time when was fitting main bar and I was feeling that doing something wrong 🤦‍♂️ Thank you for this video! 👍

I did the 2 x 2 grid system. I used Armstrong tiles with a raised profile. WHY? does my tile in the drop ceiling grid have gaps? How can I fix these gaps between the drop tiles?

Well done. Thanks for the video! Is there a video on tips for cutting around protrusions? Installing a ceiling light? I'm doing a small laundry room and the furnace vent(s) need to be cut around.

You said that the last row of ferring strips should be 2 inches from the wall, yours are not. In fact it is right up against the wall.

When I read the instructions online, they said to glue the end joints but it didn't look like you had done that. Is it necessary?

Where's your ceiling calculator? I went to the sight that you provided and nothing but videos trying to sell you something. Nothing that allows me to put dimensions in to see what my options are. Typical BS propaganda that gets you nowhere... Thanks for wasting my time! 🖕🏻

Setting a leveling wire to make the hangers all the same length only works if your joists are 16" on center. It doesn't work with a pre-engineered floor joist system where they can be 20" on center.

💥💥 Maybe with a ceramic tile patten in a small shower but 1:18 in a good size ceiling no one will ever pick that up looking up at a drop ceiling. I do fine finish work and that’s not critical.

So when leveling the track I noticed you only had the level perpendicular to the track, checking that one run of track is level to the next. But you didn't check the level parallel to one run of track. Is this not critical because a tongue and groove system can slightly flex to a small degree to make up for variations only in that direction? My track system is up, going to level it this weekend. Wish me luck!

How do you remove a two-foot damaged cross frame? I know they “click” when installed, however I can’t seem to get it out.
@markarita3
@markarita3 Жыл бұрын
You have to push in/flatten one (or both) "teeth" that are keeping it locked in...that's the click you hear when you install it. There's one per side. Then wiggle it out and up a little and on a slight angle and it should come out. If you take one out and need to reinstall it, make sure to push/re-shape those "teeth" back out so they snap back in during reinsertion. Good luck!

why would you need the metal clips for? your nailing the board to the ceiling
@Chatillgbt
@Chatillgbt 6 ай бұрын
I think it’s to allow the wood to expand and contract.. if the wood is nailed to the ceiling it could potentially cause damage as it moves overtime.. this is why you also wouldn’t nail the trim into the boards as well.. they are basically floating if that makes sense

So, I measured the area, bought 5 quickhang kits, only used/needed 4. The extra kit was more than what I needed. If you follow the instructions, watch the video's, you can't go wrong. I did and first timer.
