This is a salesman, you know ALL sales people lie. If you believe him, go buy a car from him 🤣. Advice? Go buy a used car and try buy from a private party. Vehicles depreciate way too fast. Buying a new car is the worst investment ever.

People like you act like it’s a crime to make money in the car industry but don’t bat an eye when you pay 1k in mark for that new iPhone or pay all the mark in groceries that your getting along with everything else you pay for. Car sales is just like any other form of profit business.

I recently (Sept 2024) bought a fully-loaded 2019 Longhorn 5.7L and I made dang sure to buy a truck WITHOUT eTorque!!! I think all brand new RAMs now have eTorque, which is unfortunate, as I think this is an expensive gimmick, that will be trouble-prone in the long haul.

More garbage and higher cost is all its for. And as far as ride comfort in a truck, i don't mind.... Its a truck. In fact , i put heavy duty 80 pound tires on my short bed single cab 4 x 4 Express with heavy duty shocks and bigger bumps to pull my trailer without it pushing the rear end down. And i have no problem pulling my camper.

I have one. It’s ok so far but it’s fairly new. My former 2017 5.7 hemi got better mileage than this 2023 e torque hemi. Just more expensive stuff to go wrong eventually when the warranty has expired.

It costs $2800 to replace when it fails. Mine did at 51,000 miles. It drains the battery and the truck will shut down. Can’t even charge the battery.

Fact : How much horse power does it take to turn the motor generator. Nobody's has said. It takes 12-15 horse power to turn an old standard fan so how much does the e-torque take? Fact: the e-torque only give you more torque up to about 1200-1500 rpm. So is your towing it will only help to about 10 miles per hour. I've had two vehicles with start-stop and run many tests with it on and off and I have always got better mileage with it off. This is just another gimmick to make you think your getting more power and torque and your not. I have 2022 Ram warlock with hemi and no e-torque and I'm getting the same mileage as those that have e-torque. This is a joke and I think it will hurt sales for Ram.

2020 Ram 1500 5.7 limited etorque generator gone bad 12897miles on it, truck has been sitting at the dealer for almost a month. How can this happen to a $60000 truck and why is this part on back order? Also can a 5.7 with etorque be converted to a conventional alternator?

@@humorss The 3.6 engine is made in Mexico. But the 48 volt system I have no idea. I was told it is a "mild" hybrid. This salesman guy saying it isn't is wrong. If it has a battery that gives it more torque or power then it is considered a "hybrid" no matter how small or large the battery maybe. I just bought the 2025 Ram 3.6. What I noticed different is when take off happens with it. It's not very smooth with the auto cut off at redlights or stops. Turning this off helps out. When it's auto cutting the engine off, then it comes back on, it seems to have too much power by barely hitting the pedal any or just touching it. It pulls for a split second really hard. But it doesn't happen when the auto cut off is turned off. I will admit the ride is a smooth riding vehicle. One of the smoothest I have ever drove for sure. My 2018 tundra bounced all over these bad ass roads here in Shreveport. It was rough.

@@benjy117 I have the same v6+48v system in a 2 door jeep. I think its pretty powerful for the small vehicle. I did a little bit of research in the last year. The 48v motor are not engaged when engine reaches 1500 or so rpm, it only serves as regen breaking and generator after that. It only helps you get moving with load or very big tires it seems. In the few years I had it I encounter a bug where the 48v MGU stopped charging the 12v battery and I got stranded.

I got the Gladiator (Rubicon): Needed the extra towing-capacity the Wrangler (and Bronco) don't have. As for the "convertible" part, I had zero interest in that, as it's unlikely I'll ever take the top or doors off. -- BR
