🙂 I recognise the actor's voice (who played straker). 😁 He has portrayed the voice for Captain Blue in the original Captain Scarlet TV series.

Ay up miss Alexa Ma'am, I know I'm late to the party on this but, this is the only comprehensive book to film reaction that I've found on this site. I would argue that there is a space here for a full and longer (40min-1hr) reaction to the entire series. The Sharpe series seems to have been growing in popularity and reached a more international ordience in the last few years and nobody has bothered to do a react/critique other than yourself. it sort of leaves you out there as one of the few YT reacters, and the best placed, to do it. Oh, and if I may say miss Alexa, you have a great voice for old English/Irish folk music. John Tamms (Hagman/musical consultant) would be dead chuffed. Always remember, there is no 'one way' to do a folk song, by the very nature of folk it changes and adapts each time it changes hands and in different situations. All the best lass!

Valeria (Sandhal Bergman) was a Bob Fosse dancer, with a scene in "All That Jazz". Her dance moves really helped her with the battle scenes.

This has always been my absolute favorite old movie. They don't make movies like this anymore. Romance is dead. This kind anyway. 😊

We lost our humanity to evolve, evolution never stops until a machine takes it away from you, how do you get it back? I think this movie is a good precursor to the Terminator movies. Solution: Don't hook them up to our nuclear arsenal in the first place.

As much as I like Tom in various films, I feel that it was just Tom doing Walt. I would liked to have an unknown and better look-alike playing this part. Would seem more realistic. Also the had pulled back because it was a shadow on her face problem, a quick fix.

LOL - I thought the same thing when I saw that scene with them dating the objects in that room. There are some room that would have to be emptied. I also collect antiques, most about 100 to 200 years old, but some as old as 2000 years. Glad to see you are enjoying it. I love these two as heroes.

I am a man, and I always hated the idea of wearing a suit and tie. A few years ago, I started watching this and rewatching Yes, Minister. All by themselves David McCallum and Nigel Hawthorne made me want to wear a suit and tie. I also realized how beautiful the color gray can be.

Just watched this after watching Alexa's reaction to the Time Machine two of my favourite films. I really liked her analysis, general comments and her charismatic personality really comes through. On a sad day for me she really lifted my spirits and made me glad that there are still people like her around. Clearly a beautiful person with a beautiful nature Allan

We can all smugly say we would not be fooled by a person or something, but when put into a situation where the red flags are flying everywhere, our silly minds can blatantly ignore what Daddy taught us, paint those red flags with a thin veneer of green and we end up with that lemon of a car...or person

This is one of the episodes when Clive Mantle had to wear what looked like a very 80s wig because his hair had been cut short. First time I saw it, it was very distracting.

Omg, you are a True Seeker as well?! I love Richard and Kahlan. Isn't Joanna Lumley stunning in this? I love her powers. And i adored David McCallum. I, of course, was Gold (completely ignoring the rules about "heavy, transuranic elements" - look, i was only about 9) in my imagination. I loved how they did so much with lighting, a good script and some damn fine acting. The pacing is excellent and i felt that they explained some stuff without really explaining. It's a great skill.

Steel's powers include being cold, being aloof, being rude, being obnoxious, being unpleasant and being unlikeable. He's quite versatile For me, this is maybe the peak of what I think of the golden age of British TV. A time when scripts weren't dumbed down, and the emphasis was on suspense, characterisation and good storytelling. And as FloatingFatMan points out, they didn't rush stories. It really does benefit from the serial format. I look forward to seeing you react to the rest of the series.

I'm surprised I remember this show! I first saw it around 1980 at my grandmother's house in Ashburton, South Canterbury. I remember that my Mother and I would regularly visit before travelling back to Christchurch (usually by bus) on Friday evenings. I remember we watched Sapphire and Steel and Rent-A-Ghost before we left each time. I must have been 4 years old. I still remember how off kilter the show seemed.

I'm very glad you've decided to watch Sapphire and Steel. I was about 14 when it first aired in the UK and I enjoyed them very much at the time. It was very creepy for its timeslot (early evening). I later bought them on Video and DVD but haven't seen them for a while. I'm very interested what you think of it.
