Silco's voice actor confirmed in an interview that Silco chose Jinx over Zaun in the end. And it is kinda obvoius if you listen to him near Vander's statue. He is trying to convince himself to stay true to the cause, but he just can't do it. Jinx did not understand this, though. Jayce did his own thing in the end - went behind council's back to negotiate peace with a criminal. He spoke on behalf of Piltover without having any right to do so. That was the only decision he made himself. As someone said: "It would be a shame if somebody killed their foster family. Twice." Also BTW - Jinx has just killed Caitlyn's mother.
@watchwithjoe Жыл бұрын
Absolutely will bow to the actor who knows the character better than I ever could but my read of the character (being in my eyes a master manipulator) was they would abandon Jinx. Jayce made one decision based on his own morality. The question is; did that lead to the deaths of himself, Silco and the entire council? Did it leave a power vacuum that could lead to Mel’s mother taking control? My view is that this final choice could spell the doom for Piltover but it’s founded in every wrong decision he made along the way. Also, we never saw the hexcore being destroyed. What further mutations will that thing endure. And yeah, Vi is going to have a very hard time stopping Caitlyn from trying to kill Jinx. Especially after she stopped her from killing Jinx during the hostage scene
@BBrainsTube Жыл бұрын
This is my opinion on Silco: he IS master manipulator and he IS ready to sacrifice literally everything and everyone (including himself) for his grand dream of Zaun... except Jinx. He regards love and affection as weakness (that led to Vander's downfall in his opinion) and is sure that he overcame this weakness when he was drowned. That is why he is so surprised to find out that he cannot follow through with the obviously correct decision of abandoning Jinx. He tries to convince himself that Jinx must be sacrificed only to finally realize that he loves his daughter and she is the only thing more important than his lifetime dream. Hence: "it all makes sense now, brother". In the end he makes exactly the same decision as Vander. Consequences of Jayce's only independent action during the show can be disasterous, but it is a fitting end to his character arc from "he didn't even haggle" (ep 1) to "I don't give a shit what any of you think of me anymore" (ep 9). And BTW he saved Heimerdinger's life by kicking him off the council. He even confronted Vi! kinda... a little bit... well, not really, but I guess this is as much confronting Vi as you can get and walk away in one piece. "Vi is going to have a very hard time stopping Caitlyn from trying to kill Jinx" - exactly. Looks like the whole season 2 teaser is about this.

@watchwithjoe Жыл бұрын
I just don’t trust anything that comes from a known master manipulator. From where I was when watching it I was absolutely prepared for him to abandon her. BUT I’m happy to be corrected by the actor who 1000000% knows the character better than I ever could
@scottarcher1486 Жыл бұрын
@@watchwithjoe you can also rewatch the scene when Silco is talking to Vander's statue. "1000 times I've imagined this moment, not like this. All we ever wanted and the boy didn't even haggle. I get it now, brother. Is there anything so undoing as a daughter". It's quite impressive writing actually.
@watchwithjoe Жыл бұрын
@scottarcher1486 oh I had no doubts that Silco was torn over this decision and him finally understanding where Vander was coming from but I felt he’d do what he’d done before; put the cause above all. But then again he’d been maybe excuses from Jinx since the time skip so yeah. Can totally see it but like I said, in that moment I felt he’d do it. And yeah wonderful writing

Thanks, Joe! In retrospect, the maker's usage of the word "spies" was misleading. I think they meant the alternate definition: scout. I suppose an episode title like "The Scouts" might convey less intrigue. 🚀 Pedro warning us that the finale might be "too painful" was a fake-out. This was triumphant! Now just Mylo - Claggor is also hanging out there (literally - from the ceiling). She just hasn't processed their deaths yet... Also, Powder's mind was unstable at least since their parents' deaths - that panic attack in episode 3 was a huge red flag already.

Oh yeah for sure she had deep abandonment issues before and the events of ep.3 and the time in between have made that much much worse. There’s a difference between the paranoia of abandonment and where she is right now. Right now she’s manic.

Thanks, Joe! 🚀 For all the impatient ones out there, *this* is what the makers were building toward (with much more to come). Thrilling!!! ❧ How adorable was 'Grogu' piloting 'IG-12'?! He squished a meiloorun fruit! REBELS fans will love that. And how wild to see 'Brendol Hux' in the Shadow Council? Surely, many will surmise he's the father of 'Armitage Hux' from the sequels. That they're portrayed by real-life brothers is the cherry on the sundae. So many delicious details! ❧ Then there's the gut-punching stuff. #WatchWithJoe #StarWars #TheMandalorian
@watchwithjoe Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m all for more connection to animated shows and building towards the sequel trilogy. It’s an interconnected universal and sooner or later gaps have to be filled in. All the New Republic stuff is really interesting because of how it leads into the First Order. With little control outside the core systems, out of control bureaucracy and a passiveness probably brought about by being reticent of fighting another war; you can see how easy it must have been for the First Order to rise. We’re roughly 25 years away from VII so there’s plenty more to see

It'll be wild to see the MANDOVERSE culminate in an HEIR TO THE EMPIRE type movie, the one Dave Filoni is attached to... said to be realized 7 years from now.
