When investing in quality leather products like shoes, boots, belts, coats, and handbags, it's definitely worth it to invest in both the Saphir Renovateur and Saphir Pommadier Cream Shoe Polish. I always condition my leather right after purchasing, and whenever I notice any fading, I apply the polish. This extra bit of TLC has made a huge difference-all my leather items age beautifully.
@ElinaFriday6 күн бұрын

I’m 72 but in pretty good shape for my years. My feet did not start going south until my mid 60’s. Over a few years my bunions got worse, the hammer toe went haywire over the big toe and I also developed a painful Morton’s neuroma. Even though I must be x 3 Elina’s age, I really appreciated her experience because it was also mine. Like 100% mine! I would honestly say that the two weeks after surgery were 24/7 excruciating!! Omg! And I live by myself. I had friends that would bring food, but still…. It was A LOT, much more than I thought it would be . Today is my one month mark and the doctor said it was time to start really walking . So I have. But only smooth flat surfaces. I would say pain level has dropped from excruciating, to just moderately painful. Yaaay! I’m also starting physiotherapy next week. I’m hoping in another month I will be moving around more normally. I love walking, yoga, riding my bike etc. I want to be active until the end! The only aspect to this video that frustrates me is how some people get this surgery …. and are walking around normally within a week with very little pain. I’ve heard this before! How is this possible? I want THEIR doctor ! Thanks for the great video! It really gives the full picture of what I also experienced. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

Thanks for all the info and tips and for showing how the items look on an average size person, that always helps me a lot when deciding what to order! I was wondering why you opted for the Ralph Lauren cable knits instead of the Lilysilk one, was it just the colour or the fit as well? I'm currently looking for a cable knit sweater and I'm contemplating which brand to go with.
@ElinaFriday23 күн бұрын
I am so glad you thought my video was helpful! As for my choice in the Ralph Lauren Jumpers, I simply wanted a cotton jumper instead of a cashmere or woolen one, because they can be thrown into the washing machine quite easily, which makes them very easy to take care of. So it was just about the material for me. The LilySilk jumpers do look very nice and if I didn’t have as many jumpers as I do, I would consider trying and buying one myself. All I can really say is, that I am very happy with my Ralph Lauren Jumpers and I would love to aquire some more in the future. (Quick note: I bought the jumpers in the same size but one of them did get bigger after washing it for the first time, I didn’t really mind it, but if that is to big of a risk for you to take, maybe don’t go for the Ralph Lauren Sweater) I hope this was of any help to you. Thank you for your lovely comment ☺️

How is Your Foot 2 Years Later? Any Regrets Having the Surgery now?
@ElinaFriday23 күн бұрын
My foot is doing really great. After having the metal removed at the beginning of the year I felt so much better and I have no regrets whatsoever. Especially in comparison to my other foot (which also has a bunion) I had so much less pain when wearing shoes. I definitely can’t speak for everyone but I am really happy having done the surgery. I can do everything like normal. It took quite some time but for me it was worth it.
@fh34623 күн бұрын
@ElinaFriday You Had the Metal removed? Why was that? Was it an Easier Surgery for You? Why was it removed?
@ElinaFriday23 күн бұрын
@@fh346 my doctor told me it would be fine to keep the metal in my foot but I had a little bit of pain when wearing shoes because the metal plate on top of my foot added hight to my foot, which made my shoes fit to tightly and added pressure, which resulted in pain. I was really nervous for the surgery but it was very easy and quick. I was able to walk right after the surgery and had almost no pain. The only thing that needed to heal up was the cut on the side of my foot (they reopened the scare on the side of my foot to get to the metal) but it was in no way comparable to the first surgery. But as my doctor told me, a lot of people never get the metal removed, so I guess I was just a bit sensitive to it.

@ElinaFriday OH Okay. I'm Older (62) So I'm Not Sure I'll Heal as Fast or as Good as You did. But I'm Still thinking it over. Mine doesn't Bother Me So that's why I'm in No Hurry. @ElinaFriday22 күн бұрын
@@fh346 yes I was in pain, mainly when wearing shoes because I had a lot of pressure on the sides of my feet from my bunion. That is why I decided to get my left foot fixed. If it wasn’t for the pain, I wouldn‘t have rushed to get the surgery either, but for my situation it was the right decision :)

You say very painful.. Don't they put you to sleep ? They don't give you hard pain pills ?
@ElinaFriday23 күн бұрын
Yes the do. I was asleep during the surgery and for the first day I didn’t have pain because of all of the painkiller but during the second night I really struggled with the pain. I guess the pain was stronger than the painkillers where. The pain did go down quite quickly for me, to a amount where I didn’t have to use painkiller anymore (I believe I stopped taking pain medicine after roughly two weeks) But everyone is different. Some seem to struggle more, some don’t have problems with the pain at all

First of all, it’s not the law that’s bull crap they never should’ve said that to you and I would’ve called someone to do a nice little investigation on that place you have every right to go to a new doctor if you don’t like the way you’re being treated I don’t know a different state or a different countrybut you can always get a doctor. They might not be happy but they have to.
@cassy88342 ай бұрын
See what I would’ve done is, I would’ve changed my own bandages. I’m probably gonna be doing that on my own anyways because not only did that will not heal because it was so swollen, but it also didn’t heal because it was damp. It was wet. She’s so lucky she didn’t get an infection.
@cassy88342 ай бұрын
I’m also surprised it was a week. I’m not going to my doctor for two weeks after surgery. I guess it all depends on the doctor.
@cassy88342 ай бұрын
Also, I heard some people don’t have to take painkillers for more than a day or two some people take it for like 34 days. Some people only take them for a day. It depends on exactly what you had done and your pain tolerance and it depends on the kind of medication they give you a bit something that’s stronger it’s gonna help and it’s gonna help if it’s something that isn’t of course you’re still gonna be in pain. I also suggest taking ibuprofen in between to help with any inflammation and keeping your foot elevated and iced.
@cassy88342 ай бұрын
I’m also surprised he told her to put weight on the foot right after surgery see my doctor is giving me a knee scooter no crutches bad idea they said and I can’t do it anyways cause of my back, but they told me you could put weight on the heel of your foot, but do not put any weight on the actual foot itself the rest of the foot

I Just had Bunion surgery on July 23. Everyone said it was going to be very painful. I had a large bunion and a hammer toe next to it. They repaired both. I can't take off the bandages yet. I will have the stitches out on August 7th and I can't wait to see a straighter foot. I haven't had any pain to speak of.. I just find that Im very tired after doing a couple of things. I'm 69 years old and work two jobs 5 days a week and very busy. I have to be out of work for about 6 weeks because I'm on my feet all day. 5am to 6pm every day. So I guess I will take advantage of all the sleep I'm getting. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE SURGERY if you really need it. I'm so glad you posted this video. Thank you ! 8:15

Thanks for the video. You did not discuss the foot functionality before and after the surgery. Can you do cardio exercises? Are there still things you have to think about that people with normal feet don't need to think about?
@ElinaFriday2 ай бұрын
I have filmed a second video about my bunion surgery, a 1 year update where I touched on that subject but I can give you a brief summery here and hopefully that will help. (If you want more in depth information maybe watch my other video on that topic). I am able to work out as normal (it has now been more than two years since my surgery). Cardio is no problem and I actually am really active and work out 5 times a week, with no problems what so ever (I mainly do weight lifting and Cardio). Jumping is also no issue. The only excercise I still struggle with is doing lunges because there is a lot of pressure on your toe but I am working on strengthening my toe to get that back to normal too. On a daily basis I don't notice my toe being weaker or less flexible than my other big toe. The foot that got surgery is a bit more sensitive than my other foot when it comes to walking into something or if I drop something onto my foot but apart from that I don't feel a big difference between my two feet. Hope this was helpful in any way :)
